Any word on if Preston Going pro or returning to school?

Haven’t heard anything about Preston one way or the other.

However, They did announce Dwight Wilson will be using the extra year of eligibility and returning for a second senior season.

RE: Transfer portal
Daequon Plowden coming back for the free year for BG. Not a xfer but good news for BG.

edit.....it will be interesting to see if this causes an existing BG player to xfer out. With Turner, Plowden and Diggs leaving, there was about 90 minutes available. Now its about 60 minutes.

I'll be absolutely shocked if Preston turns pro. The player the Ohio fanbase is worried about leaving is Mark Sears. He's got 1st team All-MAC potential and may not want to wait another year.

This has to be a first but Jason Carter is returning to Ohio after spending the last two seasons at Xavier.

RE: Transfer portal
Good news for OU. I think they could still use another knockdown shooter to help spread the floor. Roderick is solid and Mcday is a pretty good mid range guy but their wing rotation needs a third guy who keeps defenses honest. Otherwise, pretty complete roster, another shooter and i'd call 'em a top 25 team if Preston returns and stays healthy.

Overall, when you consider about 1/4 of D1 players will be in the portal, the MAC is doing OK. marreon jackson leaving Toledo doesn't really count because he was planning to leave after his senior year and go pro. The extra year of eligibility gave him a chance to get a degree and then play an extra season at a high profile school to enhance his NBA chances. Ball St looks like they're losing 2 of their best guys but we may see some good players transfer in there. Always good Indiana players recruited out of state who choose to come back closer to home. NIU got a really good transfer to upgrade their pg situation. WMU lost a bunch of guys but most were bench players and they got some talent coming in and will probably add a couple more guys from the portal. I'd keep an eye on Miami. They were on the cusp of a breakthrough year and have a solid backcourt. If they add a good post guy through the portal they could challenge next season.

There's starters from NCAA teams and P5 programs leaving in droves. So, lots of give and go accross D1-not just mid major stars moving up. Before it's all done I think the MAC will even out or maybe upgrade talent overall in regards to transfers. Plenty of guys who were pretty good at competitive programs but not primary options looking for a mid sized settings to be more of a featured player and most of MAC head coaches have been around, coached at P5 programs and are well connected.

Bobcats have that wing shooter already ... can't remember his name but he's a 6-6 kid from Texas. Played a bit at the end of the season, but not in MAC Tournament/NCAA.

Players often make biggest jump from freshman to sophomore season. Carter addition is strong, but the reason he left was not to be a post player. It will be interesting to see where his minutes come ... at the post or power forward.

If Preston was leaving he'd say so by now. My guess is he tests the NBA, but not with an agent. Bobcats will be MAC favorites next season, no question. Should have a strong starting 5 and solid (8-9) bench.

Jalen White is the guy you are referring to. Silky smooth shot but as you said he really needs to build up some muscle. He didn't play a ton this year but didn't look out of place when he did. Will be nice for all teams to have a somewhat normal offseason again.

Must be nice. If Toledo had that, our NCAA tourney drought would be over by now (e.g. 2018, 2021). Just get too worn out come March playing only a 6-7 man rotation.

If Preston really does come back next year for OU, look out. They'll make the NCAA tourney again, IMO.

Savion Gallion is transferring. I'm sure you're all relieved your team doesn't have to face him any more.

RE: Transfer portal
close to 1/3 of all D1 college players are already in the portal with more expected to add their names. some of these guys will not end up transferring and return to their original schools. some others may not get any offers. tough year to be a juco or under the radar hs recruit. lots of talented guys will get overlooked or end up at D2 or small college schools next year.

RE: Transfer portal
Per his Twitter account, Marreon Jackson has selected Arizona St. It should be interesting to see how MJ adjusts to a completely different coaching style and demeanor going from "even keel" TK to "volatile" Bobby Hurley! It will definitely be an upgrade in competition going from the MAC to the PAC so hopefully it works out well for MJ per his future NBA aspirations.
