We don't even know why he 'left'. Or IF he left, or was asked to left. That's the bottom line here.

If we jump to conclusions it's because the conclusions are already there. lol

Hopefully this is just an accommodation because of a prior relationship. If Penny signs Harris, the program takes a big step back.

No way! Penny develops guys to NBA level. He'll make Tyler into the next Iverson, probably better.

Maybe TyDova is here to help Jayden earn that moniker, "Top 3 point shooter in the country"

Saw no mention of this in the CA article I read.

GOTIGERS247 has an article about Nesbit entering the transfer portal. The article says that there were reasons behind the scenes why Penny and the staff decided to part ways because he made it nearly impossible for them to keep him.

Other than Marc Gasol, who no college developed, name a player who developed into an NBA player.

I definitely could be wrong. I am wrong often in this life :)

With DJ and Boogie, who have such high aspirations of playing in the league, they must obviously think Penny cannot get them as far as they’d like, right? If they wholeheartedly believed in Penny and this program for their future, why leave after 2 years here and on the cusp of something great?

Here's the bottom line: They don't think like you...nor do their families. Memphis being on the cusp of something great wouldn't interest them as much.

I can understand that. But what that does mean is being on a team that could make a deep tourney run next season that creates more national exposure for them to shine. That’s why I think they’d care about being on the cusp of something great.

They don’t care.

Exactly! Memphis was just a stepping stone to get them to the league.

The fact they were here two years is one year more than they planned on. They thought they were one-and-dones, and after two years they think it can't be their fault. They have to go somewhere else to prepare themselves accordingly.

Derick Chew without a doubt after his airball went over the basket.

Still want to know if he ever made it back to Memphis or if Cal left him on the curb of Madison Square Garden.

What point are you arguing? It sounds like you are not a fan of Penny, and you are using this Nesbitt leaving (plus the transfer portal thing) as bullet points for your Penny position.

In truth, you know nothing of the reasons Nesbitt is gone yet you are willing to chalk it up on the side of "Penny's fault" just sayin....Your position seemed to be solely based on an opinion already formed inside your noggin...not that there's anything wrong with that.

I can't wait to see who we bring in...Experience > Projects

Naw that’s not it at all. I am really excited for the future of Memphis with Penny. I guess what I am afraid of if it’s bad optics for the type of players leaving the program for other players who are in the midst of trying to decide where to go. I’m all in on Penny. It just seems that the players’ decisions to leave were an indictment on his ability to develop talent from their point of view.

There are multiple transfers from basically every school. There are no bad optics here. With the ability to find greener pastures without losing a year of eligibility, it was always going to be that way. I believe this is only a one year thing and I sure hope so, it kind of ruins College basketball.
