Kehres, Kuligowski.. etc collectively got the job done.
I think the D is headed in the right direction and this year will equal to 2015 (last good D) in results.
More depth on D line than ever before. Maybe not the best D line ever but I think it will be close to 2015 (Covington, Jones, etc....)

Main thing to work on defensively is covering the WR on fake spikes.

Definitely a terribly embarrassing moment. But there are missed assignments in every game.

Ugh...that game. Giving up a double-digit lead in the last 90 seconds or so was certainly not our best moment. But there were some noticeable improvements on D most of that shortened season. Something to build on.

With what appears to be a vast improvement in our defensive play over the past few years. And personally I believe our defense looks to be the best in the MAC. How long are we going to be able to hang on to our two defensive coordinators? (Kehres and Kuligowski) Looks like OSU is about to make some changes. I really don’t want to see either of those two guys leave. But that’s the nature of MAC football isn’t it.

If Candle is hired away, the DCs would probably have the
inside track on the HC job.

Yeah.
Not sure they have the talent they want yet, but at least the players look like they know what they're doing now. Previously, the defense almost looked like it was uncoached.

Well you hit that one right. They certainly looked lost out there. That loss to bgsucks a couple years ago was hard to watch. I go to that away game every time we play there. It was painful

The best decision Candle ever made was hiring these two guys. If heard another season of Candle talking about how it's more about bend don't break defenses and certain statistics don't matter anymore, ect. I was going to lose my mind. Defense does matter, and it may be the reason this team wins a MAC Championship. Hopefully that happens, Candle is hire away, and Kuligowski is named the new head coach.

Coaches Weiner, Staten, Black, Ford, etc. have all been good hires.

HC gets hired away, all but one of the others will make more money following him. The new HC we'd want is the one with a staff mostly in hand. As much as this board is tired of hearing it, you are not giving fair opportunity if you only pass the torch as UToledo has done since Beckman and there's ALWAYS only a bunch of old white men to catch it. You've flat out declared yourself "racist" even if not openly malignant about it.

You mean like when the AD hired Joplin or Cross? Or old white guys like Campbell(33 yrs old) or Candle(36 yrs old)?

Do everyone a favor and stop following Max Kellerman and Jemele Hill…
I'll do me a favor and continue to listen to my heart and keep my eyes open. As for those people you mention, I've no idea who they are but you seem to have a reason to be familiar.

My thoughts exactly. I dont think race has the slightest factor in any hire MOB has made... the sample group of torch catchers have been in house OC's. Thats it.... Not white old men that happen to be OC's lol???
Thats like saying a Nettys hot dogs is opening a new store and they hired ex Rudys hot dogs managers... The sample group is experience in running a hot dog joint. Not whatever race or class they might be in.
What a weird post east.

Oh please! Succession has nothing to do with racism. If you are advocating that we have to hire a black coach..... that's racism!

You made my case for me better than anyone could.
1) Nowhere did I say or imply that we "have" to hire a black coach nor did I even mention a "black" coach. Wonder why that was in YOUR head.
2) Successionism is a defining quality of racism when the pool of candidates doesn't contain opportunity for anyone reflecting those they're teaching. Thank you for your support

I honestly do believe you think that is a "weird" post. I think my post needs being said a bit louder to a wider audience.
