Bearcat04...point to me trashing Byron Spell’s
character - step right up or retract and apologize for being full of sh!t.

Please post link to a thread and post number to make it easy. Thanks for taking my call...I’ll hang up and listen.

My bet is Mason winds up in a MAC level school - and is unhappy. IMO this says more about his character than Brannen’s. Color me surprised and disappointing.

Mason probably would have quit pre season if Cronin or Huggins were coaching. Evidently, he was pretty fragile when it came to being chewed out and motivated. I really thought he was going to be a hard nosed bearcat. Very disappointed in him and his brother.

This is such crap to even throw out there about a kid.

But it’s perfectly fine when you trash Bryson Spell in multiple posts?!?

It pretty much boils down to his little buddy Mick being gone.

You full of sh!t too?

Post a link or sftu.

Haha Let me know when the questions get tough. I never said you trashed his character, but apparently the physique of an 18 year-old HS kid is open game for Rath's comedy hour. That exact type of player has Syracuse in the Sweet 16 right now.

Saying someone needs to bulk up is not the same as calling a kid in an exceptionally hard situation (which is what an 18 year old away from family in a pandemic is) mentally fragile/spineless/a quitter. Come on now, that's not even close to being comparable and you know it. One is an observation of a growth area (which we literally do ALL OF THE TIME in the football recruit threads), the other is dragging an 18/19 year old through the mud and looking like an *******.

So you just “misremembered”. Or fibbed. I’ll give you grace and say you misremembered.

I said he was an unrated, under recruited, thin kid who has a good offensive game from the outside who would likely get pushed around mercilessly in the paint next year.

Any of that incorrect or a fabrication?

Dont make stuff up because you don’t like an opinion. Bad habit.

It was such a glowing review I think his new IG name is Jack_ThePumpknKing!

Multiple former players that have witnessed Brannen’s practices have said that he’s tough, but nothing to the level of Huggs or Cronin. I don’t think any of the guys that transferred were soft, but there was obviously a disconnect with that group and the staff. Brannen needs to adapt. Had this freshman class had a normal year with sold out crowds, support from former players at practice, and a more vocal senior class I think most would still be here. These guys didn’t get that positive reinforcement this year. Holtmann has lost nearly all of his top players from his last few classes trying to establish his type of program. Hopefully Brannen can rally the same or it’s on to the next.

Play nice guys. BTW I edited the title of this thread. I think it probably wise to reserve "first name only basis" for current players.

Mason is well aware of what kind of school he'll end up at and yet he passed up a clear role with a high major program to pursue it anyways. What does that tell you about the head coach.

There were a couple games where he started, but barely played the rest of the game. That constitutes some real mixed signals from Brannen, and I question the logic. If a guy is good enough to start, surely he shouldn't sit the entire 2nd half. Brannen isn't blameless in any of this, and I hope he learns from this experience quickly.

I keep hearing this from Mikey as well and the data doesn't really back up his complaint. He started 10/22 games last season, pretty good for a true freshman and especially so with DDJ on the roster. Mikey started in 5/6 games after DDJ opted out (avg 26.4 mpg).

In those 10 starts, he averaged 19.4 minutes. There are two games (Temple and UCF) where he started and played 4 and 7 total minutes respectively. I'll give him those. But the other 8? 22.9 mpg.

Maybe Mikey took issue with the Temple and UCF games but by-and-large he got a TON of run as a true freshman.

Yes and no, Dolezaj is 6'10, and Buddy B is 6'6. Syracuse is a very big team. They have a lot of size. Also, the kid who plays point who average upper 40's per game in high school was a d1 football prospect.

Interesting re: Vogt. Word is he's been hurt all year and having surgery today on the bad wing.

You don’t have to pull over and come back here....he keeps sitting on my side of the bench seat back here and keeps touching me...are we there yet?

Vogt was a different player before the injury last season. He has his limitations regardless, but I think Bearcat fans would have a different opinion of him if not for the shoulder problems.
