I've been saying this everywhere, but former Temple target Taj Thweatt got virtually no playing time in his first year at WVU. His high school teammate (and I think close friend) Jahlil White came here, and I would imagine we'd be a top contender if he hit the portal. He'd be a day one contributor.

if he went in the portal, temple could land him...the problem is why would temple want him?
he was a 3star with a moderate offer list, who is deep bench at another school, and while wvu is good, they arent some 5 star roster- their 3 starting guards- juco. juco, 3star

there are numerous all-conference players already in the portal, numerous 4stars (like battle)..if you are going the transfer route, you go proven commodity or high ceiling...

It looks like scouts missed on that entire 2018 Moeller team (Cincinnati high school). Jaxson Hayes was a one and done lottery pick after not even being ranked in the top 100, Jeremiah Davenport was slated to go to Wright State before UC scooped him up and he's our best player as a sophomore, and Miles McBride with WVU is a complete stud and future 1st round pick.

As a Memphis fan, I would like to apologize for us gagging 2 close games to you this season, after rolling over by 40 last year.

In fairness the effects of a certain assistant coach were still there in our two games this year. Haith then just got stubborn and has now wrecked what would gave been a top 4 team by insisting on playing Haywood and KES, with at least one of them getting 30mins each game while the far more productive Jackson and Richie sat the bench. Even when finally by production forced to let Jackson and Richie on the court he didn't drop the two anchors who play similar positions, he instead took minutes from our posts 03-banghead

All while utterly neglecting our solid freshmen class who can all read the writing on the wall and are likely in the portal by this weekend.

Its absolutely baffling and simple stubbornness.

Sorry we screwed the pooch by sucking the ooc and then collapsing the regular season after taking out Houston and Memphis twice. That is hurting the AAC.

The one that hurts the most is the loss at home to you guys. That was a killer. No shame in losing to you at your place. The home game......03-banghead

I think us sweeping you and upsetting Houston overall hurts the league. WSU did what they were "suppose" to do, but the other two NCAA contenders went down to a middling team. That image helps contribute to what Sampson was going off about. Tulsa gets respect on the national level when we do well, but unlike say a UConn or a Kentucky (not trying to say we should have that level, just an example) our name doesn't carry the weight where the national perception of our mediocre teams is well that's a tough program they are going to get an upset or two.

when players end up at texas, wvu and cincy then it means the people who get paid to evaluate talent at these universities didn't miss. the recruiting services are about selling subscriptions, not much real scouting going on.

Meh no thank you. I've seen enough from Saunders, Madsen and MAW to that we don't need another small guard. We need to prioritize a long, athletic wing.

not too be mean, but, after having watched coach huggins for a long time - i don't care who / how good you are - if you're in his dog house, it'll take some major mea culpas to get out - who knows if the kid's not playing due to bball issues, or bob huggins issues - and i don't mean that in a bad way - coach huggins, right or not right, if nothing else, will always be true to his concepts - if the kid runs into a bob huggins issue, maybe, in the long run, the kid will come out of it better off than before

He held a Cincy offer out of HS but I think it came from Cronin. Would definitely take him for next season.

With Archie Miller getting the axe I'm sure Brannen will be all over those guys. Logan Duncomb, a top 75 C, is signed with IU and he played in HS with Jeremiah Davenport at Moeller in Cincinnati. Brannen also heavily recruited their two top 150 freshman wings (Leal and Galloway) and finished in 2nd for their top 100 2022 commit (CJ Gunn). This is going to be a wild few weeks.

KyKy is a bucket getter. Xavier fans were up in arms why he didn't get more run this year but he can really fill it up. Doesn't distribute and not much of a defender but he could be a valuable player at the AAC level.

Hopefully he’s been paying attention to the UMASS transfers on our team.
