Biden's* Border Bungling (13,000 unaccompanied minors)
Quote:President Joe Biden is sending a group of senior administration officials to the border, the White House revealed Thursday.

“President Biden has asked senior members of his team to travel to the border region in order to provide a full briefing to him on the government response to the influx of unaccompanied minors and an assessment of additional steps that can be taken to ensure the safety and care of these children,” White House spokesperson Vedant Patel said in a statement reported by The Hill.

But important details of the trip remain secret, including who is going and where they will go, with the Biden administration citing security reasons for keeping details of the trip secret.

The secret group of officials is also blocking any press access to their sojurn.

A White House aide confirmed to Breitbart News the trip is closed to the press.

President Biden and his administration face increasing criticism for rolling back key measures employed by former President Donald Trump to slow the migrant crisis at the Southern border, leading to a surge of unaccompanied minor migrants who want to come to the United States.

Patel said officials plan to provide the public a summary of the visit once it concludes.

The trip is an attempt to reassure the public the Biden administration is handling the crisis at the border the president has said is not a crisis.

Republicans remain furious the Biden administration is purposefully creating a rush on the border by rolling back Trump’s policies and sending public messages to migrant teenagers the border is open to unaccompanied minors. Republicans also raised the alarm of the Biden administration’s failure to properly test and quarantine migrants released into the United States who have the coronavirus.

Critics from the left are furious with the Biden administration for reopening detention camps that were closed during the Trump administration.

Quote:Law enforcement sources report that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will visit several cities along the Texas border, including the newly opened residential detention center for unaccompanied alien children (UAC) in Carrizo Springs. The trip is slated for Saturday, March 6.

Sources report Mayorkas will be accompanied by former national security adviser and current Director of the Domestic Policy Council of the United States, Susan Rice. The visit comes as migrant apprehensions along the border continue to rise. Exacerbating the situation are more family unit and unaccompanied child arrivals.

The trip will provide the opportunity for Secretary Mayorkas to see first-hand what he describes as a “challenge” and not a “crisis.” Last week, Secretary Mayorkas told reporters when asked if there was a crisis at the border, he answered, “No … There is a challenge at the border that we are managing.”

The current apprehension average for unaccompanied children is slightly more than 400 per day. Border Patrol stations are experiencing overcrowding as they look to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to place the UACs in suitable housing.

In the Rio Grande Valley, sources report the Border Patrol’s level of UAC detention is more than 300% capacity. HHS is falling behind on the responsibility provide suitable housing for UACs even after the re-opening of the Carrizo Springs facility.

Law enforcement sources report that most of the UACs they encounter are from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Nearly 30,000 have been apprehended since the start of Fiscal Year 2021.

The “challenge” will also be noticeable when Secretary Mayorkas sees firsthand the increasing number of migrants being released along the Texas border, sources say. Local communities are reporting issues with released migrants testing positive for COVID-19 and leaving the border areas.

Sources say they have little hope that the DHS executive visit will lead to real situational changes. Many believe the recent policy pivots and amnesty legislation will only cause more migrants to make the dangerous trek to the United States.

Quote:The number of migrant youth daily referred to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for release into the United States has surged nearly 600 percent since President Trump was in office, newly released data reveals.

Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs), as Breitbart News has extensively reported, apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border have increased tremendously over the last month, where now federal shelters are estimated to be at 93 percent capacity. The UAC program takes migrant youth and places them into HHS custody until they are released to a sponsor in the U.S.

Likewise, President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has continued holding UACs in federal facilities originally intended for adult border crossers despite legal requirements that the migrant youth be turned over to HHS within 72 hours, Breitbart News exclusively reported.

Data released on Thursday reveals the extent to which the Biden administration has increased the UAC pipeline into the U.S. as a result of ending the Remain in Mexico policy, canceling cooperative asylum agreements with Central America, and restarting the Catch and Release process.

The data finds that in the first week of January, when the Trump administration still had controls in place at the southern border, DHS officials were referring about 47 UACs to HHS every day. Today, DHS officials are referring about 321 UACs to HHS every day — a more than 580 percent increase.

At the same time, HHS is boosting its release of UACs to sponsors. The data shows that while about 90 UACs a week were released to sponsors in the U.S. by HHS in late January, today an average of 174 UACs are being released every day by HHS.

The data comes as the Biden administration seeks to transform controls at the U.S.-Mexico border into rapid processing sites where border crossers and migrants are quickly processed by federal immigration officials and then released into the nation’s interior.

To alleviate the appearance of a surge of illegal immigration at the southern border, Breitbart News exclusively reported, the Biden administration is looking to release border crossers further into the U.S. interior rather than the standard where releases occur in U.S. border communities.

The Biden administration is expecting to massively expand the UAC pipeline into the U.S. by an increase of at least 290 percent over this year. In 2020, about 30,000 UACs arrived at the southern border, but administration officials estimate they will welcome about 117,000 UACs this year.

More than 87 percent of UACs in HHS custody are between 13 and 17-years-old, while more than 71 percent are boys. The most common destinations for UACs are in Harris County, Texas; Dallas County, Texas; Davidson County, Tennessee; Queens County, New York; Suffolk County, New York; Kings County, New York; Prince George’s County, Maryland; Palm Beach County, Florida; Miami-Dade County, Florida; and Los Angeles County, California.

Quote:On Thursday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “ReidOut,” host Joy Reid stated that it’s “anti-immigrant xenophobia” and “absurdly racist” for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ® to claim that the Biden administration’s immigration policies are helping spread coronavirus.

Reid said, “After following [Florida Gov.] DeSantis ® down the COVID denial path and recklessly opening up his state without any restrictions this week, he’s deflecting criticism by dishing out anti-immigrant xenophobia.”

After playing a clip of Abbott stating that the Biden administration was spreading the coronavirus by not having stricter restrictions on illegal immigration, Reid said that the claim is an “absurdly racist” one.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling
Quote:U.S. border agents detained nearly 100,000 migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in February, according to two people familiar with preliminary figures, the highest arrest total for the month of February since 2006.

The figures, which have not been previously reported, show the scope of a growing surge of migrants arriving at the southwest border as U.S. President Joe Biden, a Democrat, seeks to roll back some of the restrictive policies of former President Donald Trump, a Republican.

In particular, an increasing number of children arriving at the border without a parent or legal guardian has forced U.S. officials in recent weeks to scramble for housing options and take steps to speed up their release to sponsors in the United States.

The nearly 100,000 migrants detained at the U.S.-Mexico border in February would be a significant increase over 78,000 encountered in January. The sources who provided the figures to Reuters spoke on the condition of anonymity.

U.S. Border Patrol agents caught more than 4,500 migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in a single day on Wednesday, according to government figures shared with Reuters, a sign that illegal entries could continue to rise in March.

Republicans have criticized Biden for rolling back Trump's hardline immigration policies, saying the shift will lead to more illegal immigration.

Kevin McCarthy, the top Republican in the House of Representatives, sent a letter to Biden on Friday that requested a meeting to discuss the issue, saying he had "great concern" with the Biden administration's approach to border.

"We must acknowledge the border crisis, develop a plan, and, in no uncertain terms, strongly discourage individuals from Mexico and Central America from ever making the dangerous journey to our southern border," McCarthy wrote in the letter.

I wonder if you plan to fix the hole in your head. You know, at first I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, thinking that maybe you were just very young and idealistic but now I'm beginning to understand why you've been correctly labeled a troll.

We've seen the likes of you here before, your deflections and whataboutisms won't work. So, if you are incapable of having an actual dialogue in which you can remain on topic just say so and I'll go ahead and place you with the other dumbasses who've gone before you.

Biden's* Border Bungling
Ya'll missing the most important point. Biden isn't 'bungling' the border. This is intentional. Flood the country, cheapen labor, force through amnesty, demand unionization, drive up cost of living, expand the welfare rolls, increase government dependency, create a new generation of democrat voters.

Absolutely. And on top of that, Biden* isn’t doing any of this, he’s just a puppet.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling
Quote:President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released at least more than 800 border crossers into the United States in the last four days, data reviewed by Breitbart News reveals.

In the first four days of March, the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency released about 814 border crossers into the U.S. interior — an average of about 204 releases every day this month — according to the data.

The bulk of those released are going to Brownsville, Texas; Yuma, Arizona; and Kingsville, Texas.

The releases are only a portion of the total border crossers being released, as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency also releases border crossers on a daily basis into the U.S. interior. ICE officials have not provided Breitbart News with an updated total of releases for the month of February and the first week of March.

In February, the data showed that CBP released more than 1,900 border crossers into the U.S., which amounts to a daily average of about 69 releases every day for that month. In comparison, the totals show massive influxes compared to when President Trump was in office — before Biden ended the Remain in Mexico program and canceled cooperative asylum agreements with Central America.

In November 2020, for example, CBP released just eight border crossers into the U.S. interior. Similarly, in December 2020, just 19 border crossers were released by the agency. This means there has been a nearly 24,000 percent increase in releases from November 2020 to February 2021.

None of the border crossers released, except for those enrolled in the Remain in Mexico program, are required to test negative for the Chinese coronavirus.

Reports this week confirmed that border crossers are testing positive for the coronavirus after their release and still are not required to quarantine. In one case, a Honduran national who tested positive continued traveling to North Carolina.

The data is a reflection of the Biden administration’s widespread Catch and Release policy in which border crossers arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border can claim asylum, be quickly processed, and then be released into the nation’s interior with only a promise to appear at their court hearings at a later date.

In addition to Biden’s Catch and Release expansion, the administration is looking to transform the southern border into a welcoming and processing site for arrivals. Rather than seeking to control the inflow of border crossers, DHS wants to rebrand the process by managing the inflow, to include “Ellis Island-style rapid-processing hubs,” according to reports.

Quote:The Biden administration’s immigration policies are not going well. We’ve seen a huge surge of migrant children coming across the border, and regular, adult illegal crossings are also shooting up. This was predictable. As I wrote last weekend, Joe Biden had a chance to prevent this. He didn’t, and he now has blood on his hands (see Joe Biden Has Blood on His Hands, and It’s Going to Get Worse).

Instead of doubling down on Trump’s enforcement and restrictions, Biden pronounced throughout his presidential campaign that he wanted people to come to the border. Yes, there’s video.

The vast majority of asylum seekers are economic migrants who do not meet the qualifications. Further, the system is abused in such a way whereby people cross the border illegally and then attempt to claim asylum. That didn’t matter to Biden. He had a base to jazz up and left-wingers to pander to.

Now, his chickens are coming home to roost, and the results are catastrophic, especially for the women and children who have been and will be harmed, and killed along the way.

The best intentions in the world don’t change the realities at the border. Illegal immigration is a booming industry for the drug cartels. Coyotes use children as pawns to get non-related adults across the border. Women are sold into sex slavery and raped. Dehydration, starvation, and disease riddle the journey northward for all involved. Someone can virtue-signal about helping people find a better life while sitting in their loft in New York, but they must own the results of ignoring the unintended consequences of their policies.

Now, the situation is getting so bad that Joe Biden is lifting COVID restrictions, so he can put more kids in cages.

Joe Biden can’t be counted on to push for the reopening of schools, but he’ll open “shelters handling child migrants” (notice the shift in language from calling them “cages” since Biden took office, though these are the same facilities Trump built in question) at 100%, because his policies have created an absolute crisis on the southern border.

Again, all this was preventable. The easiest thing in the world to do would have been for Biden to concede that Trump was handling the border properly, and as a result, lead to more humane outcomes. He could have kept the border wall construction going. He could have kept the ‘remain in Mexico’ policy that had made asylum far more orderly. Instead, he promoted a surge of asylum seekers at the border that was always going to lead to death and despair — though, I’m sure the media will do their best to cover it up.

Joe Biden owns this, and there’s nothing moral or good about it.

Quote:Former White House Senior Adviser Stephen Miller slammed Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas during an interview this week, saying that the remarks coming from the Biden administration about the border crisis were an “offense” to logic and reason.

Miller, who made the remarks during an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, was responding to the following diced-up clip that Ingraham played on her show:

We do not have the capacity now to address the asylum seekers’ claims … because that system was dismantled in its entirety by the prior administration. … We have to address those implications, not only for the benefit of the of the communities in the United States, but for the migrants themselves.

“The comment from Secretary Mayorkas is an offense to human intelligence and reason,” Miller said. “When we left office, the border was fully secure. If you came illegally, you were detained and you were safely returned home. That is the definition of border security, that if someone crosses illegally, border agents can apprehend them, and then they can be safely returned to the country they came from.”

“We had that system in place,” Miller continued. “Because we had deals with Mexico. We had deals with Central America; we reformed our asylum regulations. We reformed our intake procedures; we expedited return flights home; we had charter flights leaving every single day to have a safe, secure, humane border. He and his fellow political appointees at DHS dismantled all of that. They dismantled the most effective asylum system that had ever been created in this country. And they [launched] this border crisis. And he needs to own up to that fact and not lie to the American people, and not disrespect the ICE officers and border agents who painstakingly achieved that security plan.”

“And I’ll say one other thing. While they’re pretending to be compassionate, not only are their plans deeply injuring American families and American communities, but they’re destroying the Northern Triangle,” Miller continued. “Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador cannot possibly succeed if this mass exodus of young people is allowed to continue. Those countries won’t have a future. They’re sentencing those countries to generations of poverty and misery.”

TRANSCRIPT:

LAURA INGRAHAM, FOX NEWS HOST: I think Jen needs to spend some time with the Border Patrol, like we did, and live their lives for just a few hours. I don’t think they have a firm grasp on anything, including reality. Now, internal documents obtained by Axios, showing that during the last week of February, Border Patrol referred an average of 321 migrant kids each day to HHS shelters … they’re all soon going to be at maximum capacity. They’re at about 94%. It’s actually worse, though, than this. The Washington Post’s immigration reporter is tweeting that the number of families and minors arriving is expected to be the highest in over 20 years, and the government will use hotels if it runs out of space. When’s the last time you went to a hotel? Now, if it wasn’t that bad, get ready for this — my next guest says that the Biden administration is vastly undercounting the real extent of this crisis. Here now is former senior adviser to President Trump, Stephen Miller. Stephen, you and I have been talking about illegal immigration and what it’s doing to the country for years and years and years. But you have a lot of sources in Border Patrol, as well. They’re briefing you about the real situation on the ground today. What are you hearing?

STEPHEN MILLER, FORMER WHITE HOUSE SENIOR ADVISER: Well, the administration has publicly admitted, which is rather shocking, that 100% of minors traveling alone, many of them teenagers, are being resettled and released all throughout the United States, all 50 states, but what they’re not telling you is that most family units are now also being released, too — and that’s why we’re seeing now 4,000 apprehensions a day, because word has spread, not just in Central America, but throughout the world, that if you come as a family or as a minor, you’re going to be released, and that’s not being publicly disclosed. So what they’re saying publicly, oh, no, we’re still turning away family units. In reality, the majority of family units are now being released into the interior of the country. And a lot of them are going to go into communities that don’t have the hospital capacity, or the health care resources to deal with them. And that’s going to mean during a pandemic, low-income Americans are going to be denied the health care resources that they need. So this really exacerbates a public health crisis, in addition to a national security crisis.

INGRAHAM: Well, the DHS Secretary Mayorkas is a radical. He’s blaming the Trump administration, big shock, for the situation unfolding at the border.

[START VIDEO]

ALEJANDRO MAYORKAS, DHS SECRETARY: We do not have the capacity now to address the asylum seekers’ claims … because that system was dismantled in its entirety by the prior administration. … We have to address those implications, not only for the benefit of the of the communities in the United States, but for the migrants themselves.

[END VIDEO]

INGRAHAM: Stephen, this wouldn’t be happening, right? Would it? If they hadn’t rolled back the Trump border policies and rolled out the red carpet for illegals?

MILLER: The comment from Secretary Mayorkas is an offense to human intelligence and reason. When we left office, the border was fully secure. If you came illegally, you were detained and you were safely returned home. That is the definition of border security, that if someone crosses illegally, border agents can apprehend them, and then they can be safely returned to the country they came from. We had that system in place. Because we had deals with Mexico. And he needs to own up to that fact and not lie to the American people, and not disrespect the ICE officers and border agents who painstakingly achieved that security plan. And I’ll say one other thing. While they’re pretending to be compassionate, not only are their plans deeply injuring American families and American communities, but they’re destroying the Northern Triangle. Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador cannot possibly succeed if this mass exodus of young people is allowed to continue. Those countries won’t have a future. They’re sentencing those countries to generations of poverty and misery.

INGRAHAM: Well, look, this is about exploiting the labor of these migrants coming across the board.

MILLER: Exactly.

INGRAHAM: I’m going to say that, that is brutally honest. This is so a lot of rich people can have cheaper landscapers and nannies and whatever. That’s what this is about. It’s nothing humanitarian about it. There’s nothing compassionate about it. It’s so rich people can have cheap labor and businesses don’t have to pay the wages to American citizens.

MILLER: The middle class is suffering and those countries are suffering to make rich people richer.

INGRAHAM: Yeah, meanwhile, we have 13 illegal immigrants die in this fiery crash because human smuggling on the rise as well because of these policies. It’s all hideous. Steven, thank you so much.

Quote:American taxpayers are footing the bill to ship migrant drug dealers all over the country, Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, says of President Joe Biden's free-wheeling immigration plan.

''I've been down there on the border too many times, all hours of the day and night, and I've seen them standing in the dark. They're lined up, they're being processed,'' Gohmert said Friday during an appearance on Newsmax TV's ''Chris Salcedo Show.''

''The border patrolmen starting at the other end and you've got people that are passing kids around. Who's going to be the parent? They're pushing kids around to decide who's going to act like their parent. I've seen them addresses that the drug cartel gets them on where they want them to be shipped, by ICE, by border patrol taking them in.

''Then they tell the border patrol, 'This is where my relative is,' and the government pays to ship them all over the country. And when I heard border patrol say, 'How did you pay for this?' They say, 'Oh, they're going to let me work it off when I get where I'm going.' We are paying to ship drug sellers all over the country and they are all over the country now.''

Shelters are overflowing from an influx of immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border — the federal government is taking custody of 321 migrant children per day, on average — and under Biden, there has been a dramatic increase in crossings overall.

Customs and Border Protection reported 78,400 migrant encounters in January, compared with 36,585 during the same month in 2020.

Its like someone on this forum subscribed to the libturd of the month club. Every month, we get a new libturd on here that spews the same stupid sh*t.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling
Quote:Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 100,000 migrants along the U.S.-Mexico border in February, according to information leaked to Reuters by federal officials. This represents the largest number of migrant apprehensions in February since 2006.

Reuters published previously unreported numbers showing that Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 100,000 migrants in February. If the numbers are accurate, they represent an increase of nearly 33 percent from January. Officials expect the official numbers to be released next week.

The rapidly increasing number of apprehensions follows the abandonment of Trump-era border security and immigration control policies by President Joe Biden during his first days in office.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) sent a letter to President Biden on Friday requesting a meeting to discuss “great concerns” with the administration’s approach to the border, Reuters reported.

“We must acknowledge the border crisis, develop a plan, and, in no uncertain terms, strongly discourage individuals from Mexico and Central America from ever making the dangerous journey to our southern border,” McCarthy wrote.

The number of apprehensions of migrants continues to increase in March with officials acknowledging the arrest of more than 4,500 migrants on Wednesday, the article continues.

On Thursday, U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX) reported the apprehension of approximately 10,000 migrants in the Rio Grande Valley Sector during a seven-day period — 2,500 in the previous two days.

“We are weeks, maybe even days, away from a crisis on the southern border. Inaction is simply not an option,” Congressman Cuellar said in a written statement. “Our country is currently unprepared to handle a surge in migrants in the middle of the pandemic.”

Of particular concern is the growing number of unaccompanied minors being apprehended at the border. The massively increasing number led to the Biden administration holding minors in Border Patrol facilities beyond the 72-hour legal limit.

Democrat leaders in South Texas are also critical of the president’s policies that are forcing the release of migrants infected with COVID-19. Officials in Brownsville, Texas, report more than six percent of migrants being released at a local bus station are testing positive for COVID-19.

Texas State Senator Jose “Chuy” Hinojosa (D-McAllen) also complained about the migrants being released without being tested, Breitbart Texas reported in February. “[Border Patrol agents] were just dropping them off at the bus station without testing them. Obviously, that’s very alarming to all of us in that they’re coming from Central America and through Mexico and to be released into the United States without being tested for COVID is really unconscionable,” the Democrat state senator said.

Quote:President Joe Biden’s open border policy is saddling even more responsibility on rural communities that do not have the wherewithal or funding to test for COVID-19, said Reps. Yvette Herrell, R-N.M. and Dan Bishop, R-N.C., during an appearance on Newsmax TV Friday.

''We’re actually watching DHS place illegals in the hands of non-government agencies and they will be required to issue the COVID test and quarantine these people,'' Herrell told Newsmax TV’s ''Stinchfield.''

''Yet we can’t find out where those locations will be, we can’t find out where the reimbursements will come from because it wasn’t in that $1.7 trillion COVID bill we just passed. We’ve just opened up our borders after we’ve made such great strides in really limiting the number coming over. Right now, we have almost 4,000 people a day coming across our border and if that isn’t a crisis, we don’t know what is.''

Bishop pointed out a recent incident where an immigrant came in and tested positive for COVID, ''and boards a bus to come to my state.''

''This is not inadvertent. President Trump proved that we can establish border security if we proceed in a smart way. All of his policies are being scuttled by President Biden and they will know what the result will be and we’re seeing it all too quickly. It’s bad for ordinary Americans throughout the country.'

Quote:EAGLE PASS, Texas — Residents on both sides of the Mexican border with the U.S. have co-existed symbiotically for generations. Local economies rely heavily on legitimate crossover movement. The one-year anniversary of a pandemic ban on non-essential travel through land ports of entry has many business owners and community leaders feeling slighted by Washington. They feel a double standard exists between asylum seekers versus nonimmigrant border commuters.

In March 2020, temporary travel restrictions were put in place in by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The restrictions, nearly one year in effect, were based on a health recommendation issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The travel ban impacts those transiting by land from Mexico or Canada. This mostly impacts non-immigrant visa holders allowed to enter the United States as a tourist. Without additional approval, they can travel within 25 miles of the border but remain no longer than 72 hours.

To obtain the nonimmigrant visa, the applicant must show evidence of a residence in their home country that they do not intend to abandon. Many use the visa to shop in local stores and return same-day. Local businesses near ports of entry have relied on these steady customer bases for generations. In one town, streets once bustling with legitimate visitors from Mexico are nearly empty. Stores have shut down as the ban has lingered long past what most believed to be a temporary precaution. No community is immune from the trend.

Pedro, a local merchant in Eagle Pass, Texas, sells wares and secondhand items at a flea market. He now sees only a handful of buyers each day he opens his booth.

“It’s not fair that we have lost so much of our business–but others cross illegally and no one cares” he says, as he looks toward the International Bridge in Eagle Pass. The bridge–normally lined with pedestrians waiting to cross for commerce–is nearly empty.

In Spanish he adds, “The government may not think the travel is essential to come shopping, but to those that cross and us who sell, it is everything. We wear masks. They can too.”

Being on the border, most residents are aware of the issues related to COVID-19 struggles as communities are experiencing firsthand the crisis involving asylum seekers who enter illegally.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling
Quote:Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the deployment of the state’s National Guard and State Troopers to respond to the growing border crisis.

Governor Abbott announced Operation Lone Star “to combat the smuggling of people and drugs into Texas” on Saturday. The operation will integrate the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) with the National Guard, Abbott said. He is ordering the deployment of air, ground, marine, and tactical border security assets to high threat areas.

“The crisis at our southern border continues to escalate because of Biden Administration policies that refuse to secure the border and invite illegal immigration,” the governor said in a written statement Saturday evening. “Texas supports legal immigration but will not be an accomplice to the open border policies that cause, rather than prevent, a humanitarian crisis in our state and endanger the lives of Texans. We will surge the resources and law enforcement personnel needed to confront this crisis.”

Abbott issued the deployment order following a meeting with Texas DPS Director Colonel Steve McCraw. The two discussed strategies to increase safety and security along the border.

The announcement follows a massive increase in illegal border crossings since President Joe Biden took office in January.

Earlier this week, Democrat Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX) announced that Border Patrol agents apprehended approximately 10,000 migrants in the Rio Grande Valley Sector during a seven-day period ending on Wednesday, Breitbart Texas reported.

“We are weeks, maybe even days, away from a crisis on the southern border. Inaction is simply not an option,” Congressman Cuellar said in a written statement. “Our country is currently unprepared to handle a surge in migrants in the middle of the pandemic.”

In Brownsville, Texas, city officials said that six percent of the migrants being released at the bus station to obtain transportation into the U.S. interior are testing positive for COVID-19, Breitbart Texas reported. The Brownsville official said they do not have the authority to prevent those who test positive from boarding buses to travel into the U.S. interior. A worker at the bus station told Fox News they cannot ask passengers for proof of coronavirus test results before transit. Cuellar added, “I urge the Biden Administration to listen and work with the communities on the southern border who are dealing with the surge of migrants.”

Quote:PBS correspondent and NBC political contributor Yamiche Alcindor said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that while the Biden administration does not want to say there is a crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border, the numbers of people crossing “don’t lie.”

Anchor Chuck Todd said, “Yamiche, the politics of immigration have never gone well for Democrats recently. Are they ready for this?”

Alcindor said, “Only time will tell if Democrats are ready for this. You have a White House that is wanting to say there’s not a crisis at the border, but the numbers don’t lie. You have a number of unaccompanied minors coming to the border that are being held in facilities that even progressive Democrats are pointing to, saying that’s what we call human, then there’s a problem there. You also have a Democratic conference that has been really stuck on the issue of immigration.”

“Time and time again, they’ve tried to do this,” she continued. “This big bill sitting in the Senate, sitting in Congress. It seems as though it’s going to have to be broken up. There’s a lot of different unanswered questions on this. There’s a big problem at the border continuing to brew. This White House is going to have to contend with that.”

Quote:According to data released on Friday, the Department of Homeland Security is hosting nearly 4,000 unaccompanied migrant children. Reports showed more than 3,300 unaccompanied children and young adults were being held at the U.S.-Mexico border and more than 70 percent of them are expected to be released into the U.S.

Meanwhile, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials predicted a 20-year surge in illegal immigrants under the Biden administration. They expect 2021’s numbers to be 290 percent higher than those of 2020.

Illegal southern border crossings continue to surge under Joe Biden in the wake of his pledge to reverse many of the policies put in place by the Trump administration. According to an advanced copy of a Customs and Border Protection report obtained by Reuters, the Biden administration has apprehended roughly 100,000 illegal migrants who tried to cross the U.S.-Mexico border during the month of February.

The preliminary figures showed that February had the highest monthly total of illegal migrants detained, which is a record that hasn’t been broken since a major border surge occurred back in February of 2006. The Department of Health and Human Services said as of Friday, the growing number of unaccompanied children puts pressure on the department-run shelters and that more space is needed.

In order to combat the growing number of migrants, the Biden administration has reportedly considered housing migrant children at Fort Lee, an army base in Virginia. Meanwhile, House Democrats have tried to push two amnesty bills, which would provide millions of illegal immigrants pathways to citizenship.

On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell condemned the Democrats’ amnesty agenda and warned the legislation poses a threat to American lives.

“We’re not just talking about the fine details of border policy,” McConnell said. “The big backdrop behind this whole discussion is the sweeping left-wing amnesty plan that the Biden administration unveiled before they were even sworn in. They want to fast-track 11 million illegal immigrants into temporary legal status, give them green cards and then full citizenship.”

He also criticized the Biden administration for dismantling President Trump’s strong border policies, stating the border crisis will only continue to grow.

“Republicans just spent four years making major headway on the security and humanitarian crises on our border,” McConnell added. “The American people would be better served if the Biden administration had chosen to build on this progress, instead of rapidly trying to tear it down.”

Democrats are hoping their majority in the House will usher the bills through to a vote, but they are likely to be under heavy scrutiny if they reach the Senate.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling
The easiest way to handle it is to simply use the Texas National Guard to detain the illegal immigrants as they leave the Federal facility upon release and deport them. Federalism is not just a word. If the federal government is knowingly doing to something to harm the citizens of a given state, that state's local government has the power (as well as the duty) to protect its citizens from that clear and present danger posed by federal action (or in this case---inaction--as in--failing to enforce the laws duly passed by Congress). A court case will follow---but I like Texas's chances in such a case. But that will take years. In the meantime, word will spread and the immigrants will not come to Texas to avail themselves of Bidens evil and deadly "give Americans Central American Covid strains" strategy. If Californians want to kill some of their citizens in order to swamp their own low skill labor market with imported competition (further driving down their wages and making life harder at the lower end of the income scale), I guess its their right to do so. Its basically just importing poverty---but Californians have been doing dumb stuff for decades.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling

Quote:Associated Press Washington Bureau chief Julie Pace argued on this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday” that President Joe Biden did not have a plan for the surge underway on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Based on that, Pace said migrants think they have an open invitation.

Anchor Chris Wallace said, “The Department of Homeland Security put out a report this week, it wasn’t put out to the public, but it was leaked that they are now projecting 117,000 unaccompanied minors that are going to cross the border this year. Way over what we thought was a very serious surge in 2019. Is that sustainable for the Biden White House to say, well, it’s not a crisis, it’s a challenge, we are managing it, and more importantly, do they really have a plan to get this under control?”

Pace said, “They don’t have a plan at the moment to get this under control. We do have the White House is dispatching some officials to the border to try to see the situation firsthand. Right now, they’re caught in this situation where they are saying that the policy steps we’ve seen Biden take on migration essentially rolling back a lot of the Trump administration’s deterrence policies should not be read by migrants as an open invitation. Do not mass at the border. This does not mean you can get across easily, but for all of their talk about that, all the messaging on that, that is not the message that is actually being received by migrants.”

“So you do have this situation where people are increasingly coming to the border, families with young children do feel like this is a moment where they can get into the United States,” she continued. “They feel like that’s going to be a more receptive policy from the Biden administration. So this is the challenge that the White House has. If they don’t think that their policy actually is an open invitation, then they have to signal that more clearly because that is obviously not the way it is being interpreted at the moment.”

Quote:On Saturday, Texas GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw posted video of him touring the southern border of the United States between Texas and Mexico, with video from a helicopter illustrating the huge gaps in the border wall where illegal immigrants can cross into the United States. Crenshaw explained that migrants have to pay drug smugglers to get across, as the smugglers use the huge number of migrants to distract Border Patrol so they can get their drugs across the border. He also focused on the fact that Texas has to invest huge sums of money to protect its border because the federal government refuses to do all it can to deal with the crisis.

Crenshaw began, “Right now, I’m at the CBP station in Edinburg; just got a briefing from Texas Department of Public Safety. And look, here’s going to be the big takeaway from today and everything we’ve put out about what’s going on on the border: the situation is completely unstable: that’s the takeaway.”

“The state of Texas has to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to take up the slack,” he continued. “Texas has to fund Operation Drawbridge; they’ve got to fund an operation to secure Texas, which means, in practical terms, they’ve got to fund camera systems; they’ve got to fund the personnel and the officers to go try to catch drug traffickers that are getting through because CBP is dealing with 100 migrant families at a time. Why? Because the Biden administration basically decided that they don’t really want to enforce the law anymore, and that creates a backend for more and more people to come across. Why? Because they get a bus ticket and they get to go wherever they want even if they have a positive drug test. We’re going to get to the bottom of this.”

“The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) today announced that Operation Drawbridge – the law enforcement initiative using motion-detection camera system along the Texas-Mexico border – was responsible for more than 29,300 apprehensions and 88,400 pounds of drugs being seized in 2014,” The Texas Department of Public Safety noted in 2015.

Crenshaw took video of areas where the border wall has not been finished, asserting that President Biden refuses to finish it.

“Spent the whole morning with the Texas Department of Public Safety,” Crenshaw stated. “The reason I did that this morning was because I wanted to demonstrate how much work Texas has to do, how much Texas has to foot the bill for the crisis we have at the border so often.”

“But there’s a reason for that, and this is sort of how it works,” he continued. “When Border Patrol gets overwhelmed with migrants, especially migrant families and unaccompanied children just turning themselves in because they know they’ll get released into the interior, what happens is there’s huge swaths of territory that’s just left unchecked. The Border Patrol cannot control the border so you need to rely on state authorities to do that; that’s why we were just out in the boat on the maritime unit; we were out in the helicopter and the aviation unit. Texas invests a lot of money in this, hundreds of millions of dollars a year to help out, and they’ve got a great working relationship with Border Patrol.”

“Look, in these areas you’re seeing a huge spike; just leaving the station just now they’re calling it a crisis,” Crenshaw pointed out. “It’s unprecedented; that’s a factual description. Over 6,000 migrants apprehended just this month in that one station; that’s just one station along the border in Texas, the Rio Grande city station. And they expect that to possibly double within the next month; that’s just the trend that they’re seeing.”

He segued to drug smugglers using the migrants to distract Border Patrol so the smugglers can get their drugs across the border: “What’s causing this? First of all, it’s important to note that drug smugglers play a huge part of this; they know how to distract CBP. They do it on purpose. You can’t cross the border unless you pay a toll to a drug smuggler; you just can’t do it. They don’t let you; they also monitor migrants on this side of the border as well; they have stash houses all throughout; they have an entire system in place. It’s part of their human smuggling network as well; often children get smuggled as a result of this, of labor smuggling. So there’s lots of different forms of human trafficking. But the point is you’re distracting Border Patrol, and that means that it’s easier for the drug cartels to get their drugs in between.”

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling
Quote:The Biden administration is being criticized for separating unaccompanied alien children from adult family members after being apprehended at the border. The separation occurs when children arrive at the border with a non-parental adult family member.

USA Today reports the Biden administration “is still sheltering children separated from close family members” after they are apprehended by Border Patrol agents. The criticism comes as President Joe Biden grapples with a growing border crisis as a rapidly growing number of children who are not accompanied by a parent are being apprehended in rapidly increasing numbers.

“The migrant children often arrive with a grandparent, older sibling or other relative but are separated until federal officials can confirm the accompanying adult is their relative, as required under U.S. law,” USA Today stated. Current law requires that a parent or legal guardian be present at the border to qualify as a family unit.

The newspaper reports the children are placed in federal shelters — away from the non-parent adult — until a family member or sponsor can be vetted. This process can take weeks, or even months, to complete. In the meantime, the children are housed separately from the person who brought them to the U.S.

Lisa Koop, associate director of legal services at the National Immigrant Justice Center told the newspaper that this tactic can be equally detrimental to a child being separated from a parent at the border.

“It really does look and feel in many ways like a parent-child separation,” Koop said. “The trauma of the separation is very similar.”

The number of children being apprehended without a parent at the border continues to grow. Due to overcrowding in Health and Human Services shelters for children, the unaccompanied minor is being held in Border Patrol facilities designed from single children — often for more than the 72 hours allowed by law, Breitbart Texas Randy Clark reported.

Advocates are calling on the Biden administration to reduce the time unaccompanied minors spend in shelters while separated from family members, USA Today continued. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told reporters this week that his agency is looking into placing HHS officials in Border Patrol stations to check sponsorship eligibility.

Quote:The Biden administration shattered a record for unaccompanied migrant children being moved to shelters in February. The Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) placement of more than 7,000 unaccompanied minors in shelters in February eclipsed the previous high of 5,019 in February 2019, according to a report from CBS.

HHS officials report placing more than 7,000 unaccompanied alien children into their facilities in February, according to information published by CBS News. The number represents an increase from January’s housing of 4,000 minors which was already up 19 percent from December.

The previous record for February housing of unaccompanied minors into shelters came during the 2019 border crisis when HHS officials took in nearly 5,900 children.

During the first four days in March, HHS officials placed more than 1,500 migrant children into shelters, the CBS report continues.

Just one week ago, CBS reported made an aggressive move to increase the capacity for these children in migrant shelters by reactivating bed space that had been closed down to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“With increasing numbers of children being referred to ORR for care, ORR must take steps to increase the number of available shelter beds in order to minimize the risk that children remain in CBP custody,” the memo published by CBS said.

The Biden administration is also facing criticism for separating unaccompanied migrant children from family members at the border, Breitbart Texas reported.

“The migrant children often arrive with a grandparent, older sibling or other relative but are separated until federal officials can confirm the accompanying adult is their relative, as required under U.S. law,” USA Today stated. Current law requires that a parent or legal guardian be present at the border to qualify as a family unit.

Due to overcrowding in Health and Human Services shelters for children, the unaccompanied minor is being held in Border Patrol facilities designed from single children — often for more than the 72 hours allowed by law, Breitbart Texas Randy Clark reported.

Border State Dem DESTROYS Biden on the Border Crisis He Caused
https://rumble.com/vef8zv-border-state-d...aused.html

Quote:A senior-level law enforcement source in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told Breitbart Texas they received verbal orders from within the agency limiting their ability to speak freely about the growing crisis along the border.

The official with knowledge of the restrictions spoke under the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak on the matter. “The situation with media relations now is night and day compared to the last administration, The official said. “We have been advised not to speak on immigration issues at the border and to rely on DHS’s Office of Public Affairs and the Whitehouse Press Office to handle messaging.”

The verbal order applies to senior law enforcement leaders within DHS and has no formal expiration date. It comes as the administration is struggling to manage the growing crisis caused by changes in border security and immigration policies leading to a spike in illegal crossings at the border.

As local communities along the border continue to grapple with the release of migrants into their communities, the administration is facing criticism even amongst their own ranks, Breitbart reported.

U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX) said in a recent interview on the Fox News Channel, “I can tell you this, those numbers of people that are being released, they’re purposely withholding that information.”

“I now know that they’re bringing people from McAllen over to Laredo, processing them in Laredo, and they’re going to release them in my community,” the Laredo congressman said. “I’ve seen this before, don’t let the local communities know what you’re doing, where they’re starting to bring people in from the valley, process them in Laredo, release them at a bus station. And, again, I’ve seen this before in the past.”

The verbal order delivered through DHS channels is designed to prevent senior leaders from shedding light on the immigration situation that currently plagues the administration. On Saturday, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Biden’s director of the Domestic Policy Council, Susan Rice, visited several Texas cities to see the situation along the border first hand.

Members of the press were not allowed to be present during the delegation’s visit to Border Patrol stations and a Health and a Human Services unaccompanied children’s detention facility.

According to the source familiar with the media restrictions, the DHS Secretary’s delegation prohibited media presence simply to prevent the imagery of overcrowded facilities from circulating.

Quote:A video tweeted by U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) shows a steady stream of migrants marching into the U.S. from Mexico. The senator said the migrants are responding to “Joe Biden’s open border, catch and release policy.

“The tip of the iceberg near Yuma, AZ as immigrants begin to flood into the US responding to @JoeBiden’s open border, catch and release policy,” Senator Johnson tweeted. “How many have COVID?”

It is not clear how many migrants marched through before and after the video ran.

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents teamed up with Yuma County Sheriff’s Office deputies last week to disrupt another human smuggling incident where they found 18 migrants packed in a human smuggling stash house.

The agents arrested the migrants and transported them to the Yuma Station for processing. In addition, the agents arrested 29-year-old Rodolfo Rodriguez, a U.S. citizen, in connection the stash house operation.

A criminal background investigation revealed Rodriguez has an extensive criminal history. His crimes include a felony for aggravated harassment, Yuma Sector officials stated.

Border Patrol agents arrested approximately 100,000 migrants in February who illegally crossed the U.S. border from Mexico, Breitbart Texas reported.

Quote:President Joe Biden’s administration has released more than 1,000 migrants enrolled in the now-defunct “Remain in Mexico” program into the United States interior over the last two weeks.

After taking office in January, Biden ended the Remain in Mexico policy which had proven remarkably effective in eliminating the Catch and Release program where border crossers are apprehended and subsequently released into the U.S. interior while awaiting their asylum hearings.

To date, of the more than 71,000 asylum cases under Remain in Mexico, less than one percent of foreign nationals were found to have a legitimate asylum claim.

Biden announced in February that his Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with the help of the United Nations, would start releasing about 25,600 migrants enrolled in the program into the U.S. interior. Breitbart News exclusively reported weeks ago that the migrants are being released in Brownsville and El Paso, Texas, as well as San Diego, California.

Data exclusively reviewed by Breitbart News reveals between February 19 and March 4, DHS has released more than 1,000 Remain in Mexico-migrants into the U.S. interior. In the first week of releases, no more than 50 migrants were released every day.

Since February 26, the daily release of migrants in the program has shot up to anywhere between 100 to 150. DHS officials have said all are being tested for coronavirus. On average, DHS is releasing about 72 Remain in Mexico-enrolled migrants into the U.S. every day, in addition to hundreds of border crossers who do not have to undergo coronavirus tests or quarantine requirements.

The data shows that the Remain in Mexico-enrolled migrants are being paroled into the U.S. and thus can apply to receive work permits from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agency.

Most of the migrants given parole thus far, 56 percent, are from Honduras and El Salvador. More than 17 percent are from Guatemala and roughly 10 percent are from Nicaragua.

Under Biden’s watch, the Catch and Release program has expanded tremendously. For example, Breitbart News exclusively reported that in the first four days of March, DHS had released at least 814 border crossers into the U.S. — none of which have to take coronavirus tests or quarantine.

Reports last week confirmed that border crossers are testing positive for the coronavirus after their release and still are not required to quarantine. In one case, a Honduran national who tested positive continued traveling to North Carolina.

At the same time, DHS officials are expecting a massive surge of Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border. More than 3,300 migrant youth were in DHS custody as of March 4, Breitbart News exclusively reported. Most will be released into the U.S. interior at a later date.

Quote:The president CEO of Greyhound bus company and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott are pushing back against President Joe Biden and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for their open border policies, including allowing illegal aliens inside the country without testing individuals for the coronavirus.

“Our top priority is the safety of our employees and passengers,” Greyhound CEO David Leach wrote in a letter sent to DHS. “We need assurance that any detainees released by ICE have proof of a negative COVID-19 test, similar to the proof required for international airline passengers who arrive at U.S. ports of entry.”

“Greyhound already asks our customers to stay home and not travel if they are not feeling well or have been diagnosed with COVID,” the letter said. “However, migrants simply do not have that choice unless the government or their sponsors house them while they quarantine.”

“Therefore, it is critical to public safety that ICE provide 100 percent assurance that no one released that can be reasonably expected to ride a Greyhound bus be infected with COVID-19 (or mixed with other potential passengers that have tested negative),” Leach said in the letter.

The NBC affiliate in El Paso, Texas, reported on the Texas governor’s reaction to the Biden administration’s policies, which reverse the strengthening of the border and large reduction in illegal border crossings under former President Donald Trump:

News of the letter also comes on a day of criticisms being traded between Austin and Washington, DC, as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tweets that the testing of released migrants is a federal responsibility.

The NBC report continued:

Meanwhile, Mayorkas earlier this week told a White House press briefing that other than those asylum-seekers released from the remain-in-Mexico program, no migrants were being released into the country due to Title 42 border restrictions to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Leach also announced that he has requested additional financial aid from the federal government if the company is expected to transport thousands of illegal aliens around the country.

“We simply do not have buses and drivers ready to meet surges in demand without emergency funding,” Leach said in the NBC report. “In order to properly serve immigrants coming into the southern border and traveling to their sponsor destination, Greyhound will be operating one-way moves throughout the country and in order to get the resources back (buses and drivers) to the border to continue operations, Greyhound needs funding assistance to cover the costs of repositioning buses and drivers from other parts of the country to wherever they may be needed.”
