here let me splain in floridian......
VOTER FK'N ID MANDATE IN ALL 57
I would be careful screwing around with the states control over the voting process.
You will hit “Hey if we are going to change the constitution to provide the federal gov more election control why don’t we just do a popular vote”?
Pretty funny that you would bring that up as it is your side of the aisle that wants exactly that. It is also your side that fights tooth and nail against any law that requires voters to prove that they are who they say they are and that they are registered to vote.
In the 2012 election, there were a bunch of observers brought in from many countries around the world. One common theme from them was this question; "WHY are voters not required to show ID? In our country, it is the law." Some of those folks who asked that were from 3rd world countries. We are a banana republic rapidly moving to a communist state.

last time I checked, state/municipal elections are based on popular vote...
nothing about voter ID has ONE GD THING to do with states following a mandate already defined by many states that have ensured legitimacy...
as a smart feller, your posit makes ewe look silly.....and we know why the power mongers love the status quo...
based on changing rules at the state level generated the electoral college being manipulated....and ewe fk'n know it....
It would take changing the constitution to mandate election process on the states. If you open the door to changing the process with an amendment you are also opening the door to changing the process to a popular vote.
Clause 2. Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress; but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

I understand the 'how'....the following simplifies the 'why'
what you fail to recognize is 'adapt or die'....
hint: urban centers have taken over vs. the rural sector that provides sustenance to the former...

So you support more centralized federal regulation vs leaving the method to the state legislatures as defined by the constitution? Sounds like the initiative of "progressive filth".

He just wants something that favors his side, whether it is consistent with his views or not.
That said, I do think it is silly we don’t require ID to vote.
RE: Dominion files 1.3 billion dollar defamation lawsuit against Mike Lindell...
Since we're still waiting for Dominion to actually serve Mikey with papers, I'll just leave this here for your reading pleasure.
Quote:A Minnesota District Court judge on Monday denied MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell’s motion to throw out a lawsuit brought by a voting technology company that claims he defamed it by pushing the false narrative that the 2020 election was stolen.
U.S. District Judge Wilhelmina Wright on Monday denied both Lindell’s and MyPillow’s motions to dismiss the complaint. The court concluded that Smartmatic has alleged sufficient facts to support its defamation claim, including its claims that Lindell’s statements were false, that his defamatory statements were communicated to outside parties, that he knew or should have known his statements were false and that he acted with actual malice in promoting them.
The court concluded that MyPillow can be vicariously liable for Lindell’s actions, since the CEO intentionally promoted MyPillow while allegedly defaming Smartmatic in the media and during public appearances. The court also maintained that Smartmatic can pursue its claim that Lindell violated the Minnesota Deceptive Trade Practice law, since the company has alleged sufficient evidence to its claim that Lindell’s statements were made in part to promote MyPillow.
