Until about 6 months ago I only had one poster on block - CB. he clearly was nothing more than a troll and pot-stirrer. About 6 months ago I actually unblocked that tool and just read past him (or her).

Since the election however I have found the need to just block a bunch of posters here. Debate is fine but argumentative is not constructive. As offended as I am that Facebook and others have take censorship into their own hands, it is refreshing that I can at least ignore those who can't / won't reason.

I openly ask why many of these people post here. It is clearly right leaning - some go a little far to the conspiracy stuff, but the bottom line is that the vast majority are conservative and share a common core belief. The hand full of people that think they can change our minds is frustrating - it is our core principle belief and we do not like the core values of Democrats. You are not going to change anyone's mind so why do you bother. And you all have a blanket opinion of what you seem to think "we republicans" stand for in a very rudimentary and offensive tone.

All Republicans = Racist
All Democrats = Socialist

Does anyone really believe that 100% nonsense? You would think so reading too many of the posts here.

In the last 2 months and as recently as today - I began putting some posters here on ignore. I really thought it would ruin the experience as I would be missing the other side of the argument. To my surprise it has significantly enhanced the experience. We all have our own individual level of tolerance but ignoring the following posters here has greatly enhanced my viewing pleasure:

I try not to block anyone. If they're at least posting intelligent or thought provoking responses even once in a while then I'll at least read what they posted. Now, having said that, there are a couple of blatant trolls on your list who bring absolutely nothing to a conversation.

My ignore list is WAY longer than the list you posted.

I get that. Look, here is where Im at. The idea that anyone goes to Washington with the idea of ruining life for Americans seems unlikely--regardless of party affiliation. Thus, we all send our elected leaders to Washington with the idea they will work toward making life better for the nation---we all just disagree on the best way to do that. Not every idea is from a Democrat is awful (granted, you have to weed through a lot of mindless propaganda to find any useful ideas---but useful ideas do appear on that side of the aisle every once in a while). You also need to know what problems they are trying to address. Even if you dont like the Democrat solution, often the issue they attempt to address is real (lol---though in some cases, even the issue is NOT real---#SystemicRacismIsNotAThing). So, I sympathize with your "I don't need to hear the mindless drivel of idiots to form well reasoned opinions on the issues of the day." statement and understand why you have that attitude.

I don't have anyone on ignore. Isn't anything on here that gets me that worked up. If it's something stupid, for the most part I merely skip over and move along to the next thread. I don't mind hearing different opinions, no matter how silly. However, I don't mind calling a Troll a Troll when needed. I just figure if we all agreed this place would be rather boring.

Eldonabe's first mentioned block fits that description to a tee. Repeated troll threads. Never any value whatsoever.

I have more than just the one on ignore as some just repeat the mindless talking points and almost never add anything to the conversation. Helps get through the threads quicker. I can always view a particular post if I choose.

I like to read differing opinions that are something other than the regurgitation of ludicrous CNN or NYT headlines. However, that's mainly what you see on political boards from leftist posters.
