SO while its a 'good look' to have someone like him visiting people in their flooded homes or handing out water bottles, and its a 'bad look' for him to be on a beach at a resort while others are suffering... the REALITY is that those are both simply 'looks'. Style over substance.

Here's some more reality....
This is nothing more than a strategy by the left and media to do to ANY leading 'Republican' what they've been doing to Trump for the past 4 years. The moment anyone seems to be providing leadership to the party, you will see them immediately come under attack...

Its transparent.... and PRECISELY how many dictators rose to power... by using the power of the media and now the internet to manipulate public opinion.

Pathetic that so many are such fools in this country

2. Beto is a mommy's boy ***** who is as useful as teets on a boar.. and like all leftists, is using a disaster for political gain.

3. Bush did exactly what Biden did for Katrina, even more.... yet Biden hasnt received one iota of blame. Not suprised because the media knows Biden is busy with his next diaper change.
1. if you don't care what cruz is doing, why are you on this thread?

2. Beto is apparently a hell of a lot more useful than Cruz, given he's actually doing something to attempt to help a few people in TX.

3. Since this seems to be the prevailing thought around here, 'what else could Biden do?' He's already declared the federal disaster, sent generators, supplies, & fuel, gotten FEMA involved, etc., etc.

The fact that Bush got flack for his FEMA director blocking emergency supplies being delivered, denied access to the Superdome for supplies, etc., no matter how much the state of LA & city of NOLA bungled things initially, is neither here nor there.

1. To rebut the obvious idiotic nonsense

2. Beto is a always will be nothing more than an opportunistic dbag. Now AOC is in on the opportunism praising herself in a barage of tweets. Look at me look at me. Disgusting

3. And again, Bush did the same and was called a murderer for Katrina. Time for a diaper change sniffy.

That "opportunistic dbag" has done more to help the people of TX than Cruz has - same for AOC. I don't care about their reasoning - at least it's something helpful.

To try to discount that is the obvious idiotic nonsense.

Cuomo kills thousands of innocent people and he is lavished with praise and awards, Cruz takes a family vacation and he is the devil himself.

What a sick world we live in.

Come Lord Jesus and save us from this evil, backwards world.

Cuomo is slime and needs to resign. But for you to pontificate for him to be taken to task while ignoring the deaths "caused" by the bungling trump is truly pathetic. We're approaching 500k in case you weren't aware.

Whats pathetic is actually pretending those deaths are Trumps fault or that those deaths could have easily been avoided.

That is remarkably dishonest but its par for the course for you.

They're not all his fault, nor could they all have been easily avoided. But anyone who thinks he could not have done anything differently and could have saved at least a few hundred or thousands of life's is just delusional.

I'm not being dishonest...I don't lie about anything here. Stop taking a reasoned opinion as fact and then calling someone a liar for it. This is why you get into trouble here.

Dude, herein lies the problem.

Quote:Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who is facing backlash for traveling to Mexico as a winter disaster ravages his home state, has repeatedly criticized politicians who vacationed or took part in leisure activities during times of crisis, a CNN KFile review finds.

This past December, Cruz attacked Austin Mayor Steve Adler for going to Cabo, Mexico, during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Hypocrites. Complete and utter hypocrites. And don’t forget @MayorAdler who took a private jet with eight people to Cabo and WHILE IN CABO recorded a video telling Austinites to ‘stay home if you can…this is not the time to relax,'” tweeted Cruz in December.

Agreed....but it's also AOC's job to do that for her constituents, and she somehow managed to raise $1M for TX in a matter of days. Beto has no power within the state either, but he's being proactive and trying to help as he can as well.

Is their motivation 100% pure? Of course not...does that change the fact that they have helped people in TX more than Cruz has? Nope.

You would hope that people holding public office have at least the moral constitution to try to do something to help their constituents out when something like this happens. Instead Cruz is more worried about running around doing damage control for his image.

We're seeing some fundamental differences in basic compassion right now between Cruz & others for sure. Voters in TX won't forget that.

Meanwhile Beto O'Rourke is organizing phone banks where he and volunteers are calling seniors around the state to see how they can help them get food and water. 151,000 calls yesterday - probably more today.
I voted for Beto - don't blame me.

Did any of them actually help, or just remind them to vote for O'Rourke for governor in 2022?

"Hey granny, if you ain't frozen due to no heat we can bring you some water. Just remember, you betta vote Beto!"

What disgusting comments as elderly ARE dying right now. Apartment complexes are having pipes burst, flooding units, and the elderly are trapped with no where to go. Want to get a view of the chaos? Go to reddit austin where people are trying to get their stories out there about how dire **** is right now.

They are flooded out
They are freezing
They have no power

Yet they are on the internet telling their story! This right here is why people dont know how to deal with a problem

Probably the best thing that could have happened to them...now they will remember this moment for the next few years and be prepared for the next one.

Cruz has been working for Texas for many years, raising money, feeding the poor and fighting for his constituents in Washington his entire career.

The notion that AOC or that US constitution hating clown Beto have done more and shown more compassion for Texas is one of the dumbest things ever posted here. She has spent most of her "career" chasing good jobs away from her own state and calling conservatives in Texas and elsewhere white supremacists and racists. Same for Beto.

AOC is a nasty, dishonest person who is nothing but a mouthpiece for the Marxist socialists in Washington.

Certainly feel for those impacted, heck I have family in Houston who is going to have to bull doze their home and start over. Its an absolute mess.

But to make this into a political pissing match is the last thing that needs to happen.

Why would anyone have to bull doze their home from a freeze? If its because pipes busted....

Drip Drip Drip, thats about all it takes to keep that from happening.

God help those in danger right now if the most powerful men and women in Texas aren't doing anything because it doesn't fit into their day to day job description during a crisis.

I'm not a chef but that didn't stop me from baking a 25lb frozen turkey we had yesterday to feed people. I'm not a hotelier but that didn't stop me from opening up my home to those without water or power. Best believe if I had his rolodex I wouldn't be flying to Cancun with the kids only to be shamed back to Texas because the world announced I was an even bigger POS than expected. Best believe if I had his media presence I would be shouting from the rooftops that more needs to be done.

I call BULLCRAP....

baked a FROZEN turkey and it takes 2 to 3 days to safely thaw that size of a bird.

Ted Cruz went to Cancun
True story... happened yesterday morning in fact

Had a webex yesterday with a physician practice im working with. The doc heads to Key Largo every 4th week and spends the week on his 80ft yacht. This was the 4th week. His practice admin and billing folks snowed in and one dealing with a busted pipe, yet they all called in. The doc joined late and had his cam turned on basking in the 85 degree sunny weather of Key Largo, we all had a good laugh after the exchange. Work was done, it was a very productive meeting.

By the screwed up logic from the dopes in this thread, that doctor has no compassion and should be back in north Mississippi shoveling snow and fixing pipes for his employees.

Im pretty certain in the past week when peoples pipes were bursting and electricity went off and on and off again they thought "where the **** is Ted ******* Cruz?"

Maybe he’s trying to poison these people.....03-puke

He's a US senator. There is nothing for the senate to do about this.
What is the other Senator doing, what are all of the other congressmen doing

Hope to hell they are trapped or involved in rescues

Soaked it in a tub under water for hours and then baked the **** out of it at 325 till it was done. Times of crisis require extra effort. It was 160 internal when I yanked it, 165 b by the time it served.

Everyone was fine. Happy and full. Thanks for your concern tho.
