ESPN+ Announcers
I’ve been wondering throughout this season why Ben Creighton wasn’t calling our ESPN+ games anymore this year. It seemed like he just flat out disappeared. Anybody know what happened to him? He and Shields did a great job last year and are kind of missed on the broadcasts.

Creighton left Fox16 to do play-by-play announcing only. By staying on Fox, he would have to do other sports journalism things. He was supposed to call basketball games for another network recently but they were cancelled for covid situations. Also keep in mind that his hometown was Eugene, Oregon. A long way from home!
As for Shields, he left to be an assistant coach for new D1 program Tartleton St. However, he would leave that job to be I think the director of parks & recreation for North Little Rock. It was a job he wanted and also he would be back home.

I knew Shields took that assistant job but had no idea he was back in town. Good for him!
As for Ben I didn't know he left Arkansas. That's good that he's working at a network but that's got to be a big blow having Covid affect his work. If he stayed here he would've called a lot of games.
