Heinicke
26 of 44, 59%, 306 yds, 1 TD, 1 Int, 46 yds rushing, 1 TD
Mahomes
26 of 49, 53%, 270 yds, no TDs, 2 Int, 33 yds rushing no TDs
Taylor and Washington also fared well both individually and collectively against Tampa Bay compared to Tampa's other two playoff opponents - New Orleans (Drew Brees) and Green Bay (Aaron Rogers).
Aaron Rodgers threw for 346 yards against Tampa with 3 TDs against 1 INT. Final QB rating was 101.8. Taylor’s was 78.4. Might want to take off your rose colored glasses when typing.

RE: Taylor Heinicke
33-48 346 yards 3 TD 1 INT 0 rushes 0 yards
26-44 306 yards 1 TD 1 INT 6 rushes 46 yards, TD
PFF graded Heinicke higher, FWIW.
Either way, if Heinicke is even in the conversation for performing as well (or better) than Rodgers in a playoff game, that is a good thing. And its clearly a valid conversation.

I didn't say that Heinicke - 306 yards with 1 TD passing, 1 TD rushing, 1 INT, and QB rating of 78.4 - fared the BEST among the other two playoff opponents. I said he fared well - and he did.
Throw KC into the mix and the statement gets even stronger (see above). You might want to take your own rose colored glasses off before responding so negatively to someone else's post.

Guys, it was one game against a common opponent where he held his own with some great QBs. That does not make him the GOAT or anything close. It only earns him a shot at a roster spot somewhere.

I doesn't make him an Astronaut or a NASCAR driver either. No one has claimed any of those things - including the GOAT or anything close - on here.

Yes, that is true. But if you are going to take everything literally, I said he is not the GOAT and I said what I think it gets him.

The Washington Football Team has agreed to terms on a 2-year extension for QB Taylor Heinicke, sources say, worth $8.75M. There are also incentives depending on how many games he starts. Real security for their resilient QB who started and impressed in the playoff game.

If he plays this right, he is set for life.
So much for that Engineering Degree

He is earning a degree in Math.
And assuming he earns the entire 8.7 (?) million, that isn’t going to set him up for life. Hopefully the incentives are obtainable so that he can earn a majority of the 8.7

I feel like I have a pretty decent salary and 8.7 million would set me up for life. I can make 2-3% on that in my sleep.

He isn’t going to see 8.7 -even if he hits all the incentives- agent’s cut, taxes (he has to pay state taxes in every state he plays in), etc. and trust there will be people with their hands out asking for money.

No one said that he could live on it and hand out free money to people. Cut it down to 3 million and I could live off 100k+ per year if I wanted to.

RE: Taylor Heinicke
You're saying he cant live off his salary for life? If he invests 1 million he'd be able to get returns of 40k to 60k a year.

Getting and staying on an active roster to trigger the life-long pension when he retires is going to be huge too. This contract means so much in so many ways for his future. Happy for him!
