Boogie?
Has anyone figured out why Boogie is playing such limited minutes? Is it his left wrist? I noticed it was wrapped in the game Saturday.

I'm guessing it's a combination of Lomax playing well, LQ being more versatile, especially on defense, and you have to give Baugh some minutes.

RE: Boogie?
And Jayden gets mins as well. Boogie can expect to play 12-15 mins a game and that’s probably the most unfortunately unless rotations tighten.

He can't hit shots or play defense. I would bet he transfers after this year.

He's averaging 20 for the season and 16 over the last 5 games.

Boogie should feel fortunate with the minutes played

3rd highest Turnover %
6th in +/-
8th in PER, True Shooting %, Effective Field Goal %, Assist %, and Block %

5th in Minutes Played

RE: Boogie?
I think Boogie could be much more effective given decent minutes in a row. As good as Lomax plays some times, he often creates as many problems slowing the game down and turning the ball over. If Hardaway isn't going to play him, he probably be smart to transfer, but of the 3 "point" guards we have I'd still vote Boogie as our best option.

Personally, I prefer a point guard that racks up assists. That doesn’t appear to be Boogie’s thing.

I sometimes think that had Boogie gone to Duke instead of Memphis it would have improved both teams.

LOL
Facts can be twisted as we all should know by the way MSM handles news.
Since Deandre has been eligible, Boogie has averaged 16 mins a game. The last 5 games, his mins have trended downhill - 19, 17, 17, 15, 11. In the same 5 game span, Jayden has been averaging over 10 mins a game. Maybe we’ll get a surprise and Penny will tighten his rotations. But I doubt that happens. The team is playing well and he’s doing a solid job coaching them. Let’s hope these loose rotations don’t bite us. We have a chance to make some real noise over the next month.

6th is +/- and 5th in mintues played...I would say that lines up

What about points per 40 minutes.

Boogie is limited right now...Much more versatile than Tyler was last year. But if Boogie can stand more minutes...Junior should play less minutes.

Not knocking Junior though...I think he will be close to a 10 ppg scorer by 2024...More often than not he gets to good spots on the floor but cant finish...That will change with time.

Lomax took charge in the last 4 minutes of the ECU game. The team needed that and that said a lot about Lomax. Attitude means a lot.

Yes, they killed all flow which was a major advantage for ECU.

RE: Boogie?
Boogie is just inconsistent. His high level is higher than any guard on the team. Unfortunately, he consistently plays well below that level. Penny also seems to have a very short leash for him. It kind of reminds me of Joe Jackson and Pastner early on. Combine that with the fact that Lomax seems to be starting to play at a consistently high level I am not shocked to see his minutes decline.

Lomax should get majority of mins at PG.
Since Deandre became eligible (first game of the conference season) against Tulane, these are the average mins played for the conference season.
Deandre, Lester and Nolley tied at the top for approx 26.5 mins played.
Then DJ at 4th with 23.5 mins and Lomax at 5th with 23 mins played.
Then Cisse is at 6th with approx 19 mins played.
Boogie and Baugh are tied for 7th with approx 16 mins played.
Then Jayden with 12.5 mins played.

IMO Boogie is a better guard than Baugh and Jayden. Jayden shouldn’t average anywhere close to 12.5 mins per game. The problem is not Lomax playing more mins; the problem is giving a decent chunk of mins to a guard who consistently has no impact on the game.

and ecu substituted every chance they got, to slow the game
down even more
