When we don't play great we completely suck, Penny sucks and the players sucks, but IF 5-11 Kentucky is 7-12, the media will love them. You come up with these wild over the top reactions to everything. 7-12...love from the media? Seriously?

We'll mark you down as not having seen ESPN hype overrated P5 teams the last 10-15-20 college football and basketball seasons.

Different season. The media has actually gone after Cal pretty good this year.

I will give Cal credit though...

He knew before this season started that they wouldn't be very good.

He always knows if they're gonna be good or not. He's said as much to his friends. This and I think the year they wound up losing to Robert Morris. He knew then they weren't any good.

RE: Conf strength and the eye test
That's what I'm saying ... It's going to come down to who the best 40 are and quad 1 wins, league /schedule strength. This " just wait, Penny's gonna come around " sheet is all well and good ... But if we don't win out or win our tournament ... Our year is over. Maybe he realizes this now judging by the '21 recruiting class ... Geared for 4 year players. But in this conference, he's gotta come out of the gate swinging AND dominate league play.
We play ECU Saturday ... With their HC Dooley and a Quad 1 win against Houston. A MUST WIN !!!

When we started the conference season I would have agreed with you...

But there are going to be so many 16 win teams in the Big 10 and the ACC...

The AAC will get 2...We can lose two more and still get in...But if we lose 2 we will have fight with other AAC teams for that bid.

Depends who the 2 are. We lay an egg against ECU and Tulane and we ain't going anywhere unless we win the tournament.

That makes it more difficult...But if we lose those 2 that means we won @WSU and Houston x2

But honestly if we lose @home to Tulane AND @home to ECU we don't deserve an at large.

Not Jimmy Dykes. It hurts him to see Cal lose. He constantly puts down the players. I wrote him off when he say in Memphis we play for street agents when Cal was the coach and we were beating Georgetown.

There's no way that the coaches at LSU or Arizona should be coaching right now either.

Kentucky, Duke, and Michigan State should be nowhere close to the tournament, but the "experts" will start up the excuses of how tough the SEC, ACC, and B10 are as well as how good those teams look losing every game.

Andy Katz in his bracket has:

Big 10 (9 teams): Michigan (1), Illinois (2), Iowa (2), Ohio State (3), Wisconsin (5), Purdue (6), Minnesota (7), Rutgers (8), Indiana (9)
Big 12 (7 teams): Baylor (1), Texas (2), Oklahoma (3), West Virginia (4), Kansas (5), Texas Tech (6), Oklahoma State (7)
SEC (5 teams): Alabama (3), Tennessee (4), Missouri (4), Florida (6), LSU (11)
ACC (8 teams): Virginia (3), Florida State (4), Virginia Tech (7), Louisville (8), North Carolina (9), Duke (10), Georgia Tech (10), Clemson (11)
Big East (4 teams): Villanova (1), Creighton (5), Xavier (7), UConn (9)
AAC (1 team): Houston (2)
WCC (3 teams): Gonzaga (1), Boise State (9), BYU (10)
PAC 12 (4 teams): UCLA (4), USC (5), Oregon (8), Stanford (11)
MW (1 team): San Diego State (11)
A10 (1 team): St. Bonaventure (10)

The rest are smaller conference champions.

Boise is in the MWC not WCC....on that note, imagine what a western wing of Boise, BYU, and SDSU or Army/Gonzaga combo would do for football and basketball in the AAC

I'm marking you down as the only human being on the planet that thinks that 7-12 Kentucky will be loved by the media, as a tournament team.

I know for a fact that he thought we would challenge for the title in 2002, when Wagner came on board.

Right now we would have to argue that we didn't have Deandre to clearly win this argument.

What?

When you posted that, SMU was only ahead of us in one single metric - the NET. We were ahead in KenPom, BPI, and Sagarin.
Today, we are ahead of SMU in NET, KenPom, Sagarin, and BPI. I see literally no ranking service where they are ahead.

Also, we have only 1 bad loss. Tulsa at home was a Quad3 loss. Our other 5 losses were Q1 and Q2.

Overall record? Come on, that is never a criteria.

Yet you tell ME to look it up?

Why did the Federal investigation stop where it did? It seems like they had an almost endless amount of doors that could be opened. It was the NY DA, I wonder if the folks down the street from him at Columbia Broadcasting persuaded him to stop.

First off wasn't talking to you...Talking to the person who posted the snark.

My opinion is they are ahead of us right now and we have work to do. I don't think it is an invalid argument at all. We still have work to do.

It is ok for you to have a differing opinion...
