You all do know that NET rankings aren’t historical and are reset every season right? Sure, you can use past results to “predict future success”, but that doesn’t mean that Lamar and McNeese are doomed to be bottom NET teams.

Hypothetically:

WAC Div:
Tarleton St
Sam Houston St
Lamar
SF Austin
ACU

ASUN Div:
EKU
UNA
J’ville St
Kenn St
UCA

Make it a 1 year only thing. The WAC can play ‘22 with the Utah schools and the ASUN has a year to find another member or two.

LU basketball typically isn't this bad, and the good news is that this is the last year of Coach Tic Price's contract. With this move to the WAC I expect LU to spend more money and bring in a good coach. It would be nice to see LU once again average 5000-6000 fans a game like they did back in the 80s and 90s.

Had no idea Tic Price was still coaching.

Of course not. Predicting the future is always a matter of probability rather than certainty. I can’t predict with absolute certainty that neither NMSU nor SFA will have much higher NET scores in the future either but the likelihood of those teams remaining stuck at their present levels is low based on their past success and the investment they have made in their programs. If either Lamar or McNeese demonstrate the ability and willingness to make a similar investment I’d expect similar results. Lamar made that commitment when they agreed to join the WAC. Can McNeese do the same?

Why did you leave out Dixie State? They are already a part of the WAC.

Dixie State's athletic director is not 100% sure they are going to be playing a WAC schedule in '21. He has indicated on Twitter (shared in another thread) that they may not be able to buy out/shift all of the games (they had 10 + SHSU) for '21.

This probably explains why they were left out - I have been leaving them out too.

Tomorrow is the ASUN announcement... here's hoping either the league office or the media brings up the question about what it means for football '21 for them. That should shed some more light on WAC football '21

Quote:ATLANTA, Ga. - The ASUN Conference and Commissioner Ted Gumbart are set for a major announcement on Friday via a Digital Press Conference. The video broadcast airs on ESPN+ at 11 AM ET.

ASUN Conference, Atlanta, Ga. - the only DI conference headquartered in the ATL, our footprint's primary media, sports, business, transportation and cultural hub
The ASUN, a Division I conference member of the NCAA, boasts a membership of institutions that share visionary leadership, bold ambition and creative innovation. As a nimble adaptive conference, unafraid to blaze a national pathway for better service to our student-athletes, teams, and institutions, the ASUN has a proud history of firsts, national academic and athletic achievements and a conference culture that walks the walk with its four ASUN Beams. Students First! Rise. Connect. Impact. #ASUNBuilt by Bellarmine (Louisville), FGCU (Fort Myers), Jacksonville (Fla.), Kennesaw State (Ga.), Liberty (Lynchburg, Va.), Lipscomb (Nashville), North Alabama (Florence), North Florida (Jacksonville, Fla.), and Stetson (DeLand, Fla.).

Starting FCS football and the addition of Central Arkansas, Jacksonville State, Eastern Kentucky and maybe another football member.

the existing ASUN schools (KSU, TUNA wouldn't be apart of the 21 deal - they will remain in the Big South.

Had the ASUN also mentioned FBS? Or are they just looking at FCS.
