Is anybody besides me tired of the media and big Tec’s double standard?

I actually thought some of you cared about this. But apparently I was wrong.

I’m voting by getting off of Facebook and Twitter. While I’m addicted to Apple, I want to ditch them. I like the convenience of Amazon, but I am looking for alternatives. And I switched from the Google search engine to Duck Duck Go. Boycot CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, the New York Times, etc. advertisers. Hit them in their pocketbook where it hurts.

I've never had a facebook or twitter account. I buy precious little from Amazon. The double standard is the first confirmation that an alien authority has control of our government, and in this case it is corporate money and influence and when Trump raised the anti trust specter the corporate CEO's went apeshit crazy. Totalitarianism always begins with the loss of free speech and free press. The TV, radio, and newspapers have all been syndicated and bought out by the corporate elites. So the free press has been dead for awhile but the takeover is because of conglomerates which are at the heart of anti-trust legislation. With no free press the attack on speech begins with censorship of points of view and without coverage of crimes.

We are here. There isn't much we can do about it and we'll see how long before sites like these are no longer given airspace.

Your best avenue of pursuit is to get to know your neighbors and community and to talk openly with those you trust. Take back your community first. Your first line of defense is a local sheriff loyal to his/her people. Once you do that you work on the county, then the state. Each level can protect you from corrupt federal enforcement.

The states need to ween themselves off of federal money, but you are likely going to have to defeat corrupt state level politicos and remove crooked bureaucrats, particularly at the state education system to get there. No federal money, much less federal intervention.

All true, and it would probably help to be involved in church activities, and be in a home group with people you trust and can share with. And maybe be involved in a civic or charitable, or school organization. And put history and civics back in the curriculum. The root of the problem is “the love of money” which we were warned about some 2000 years ago.

I am in all off those things (except a school organization) and yes they help, especially the close home group. And I remain a Christian though the corporatization of the church started happening in the 50's and 60's and now far afield from scripture. I teach any young person that will listen about history and civics, and about why they should not only read and study the Constitution, but the ideas that went into it, especially Rousseau's social contract, as all of it relates to the legitimacy of a government.

I've not seen the benefit in Public Education since he early 80's when a man teaching one of my daughters lies was forced to admit his error but his principal refused to dismiss him because he had tenure. He was a history teacher who admitted to teaching history incorrectly because he felt it was detrimental to his beliefs in socialism. God was already out of the classroom, the same principal had a drug problem at the High School and the parents knew who was dealing, as did the local sheriff, but the principal allowed no searches so that the school could officially remain drug free in its classification with the state and that earned him awards.

I ask you is it an education when what is being taught is a lie and what is being modeled for behavior by the leader is bureaucratic fantasy? My kids went to a Catholic school after that, even though we were protestant. I never had a problem with the nuns!

I'm trying. Even my conservatives friends (well, I only have conservative friends anymore, I've disowned anyone else so) seem to be brainwashed by Fakebook.

No guarantee on private schools. My kid's school was a good mix. I was a little nervous when his history teacher had a Malcolm X poster. He was liberal, but was a good teacher and encouraged vigorous discussion from all sides. I did unsubscribe from the school e-mails when the head of the school (a former Methodist minister) sent a political rant about the Capitol protests. He had pushed the line before, but crossed it there.

You just have to be involved. Especially review the history texts. My son's 3rd grade history text was written by a California Chicano activist. Totally distorted the Texas Revolution. Fortunately, my son had to do a report and I helped him get good sources and educate the class. Texas Revolution according to this guy was all about slavery. No mention of moving the capitol 1000 miles away, a dictator tearing up the Mexican Constitution (its believed by many the Mexican flag with 1824 written on it flew over the Alamo-it was the 1824 constitution that Santa Anna ignored), jailing the leader of the colony for merely taking a petition to the new capitol or forcing the Catholic religion on the settlers.

My daughter's high school history text was all about the global warming cult and racism. You would have thought Blacks and Hispanics suffered in the west, not the Indians. Buffalo died from climate change and farming, not from a deliberate effort to exterminate them and starve the Indians.

I won't click on CNN or NYT. With WaPo calling for censorship of conservative media, they will be censored from my clicks.

Northface won't get any more of my business. I'm definitely going to look for alternatives to using Amazon. Switched to DuckDuckGo a couple months ago.

I don't do twitter or Facebook. My wife does Facebook but does nothing political. She's had to adjust her settings with some friends because they are so hateful. Mostly liberals, but some conservatives.

Our children and grandchildren could deal with the lies if:

They actually went to libraries to read books. While censorship occurs at the library by what is relegated to the stacks or archives the material is still available. Not only do they only use electronic media, but the censorship and disinformation in that one source is overwhelming.

If public education still taught logic and required reasoning they could learn.. The kids have been preconditioned to only recognize answers and they have been severely hampered from explaining why the answer is so. So knowing an answer has been intentionally separated from understanding why it is the answer. This method of instruction is designed to destroy reasoning (a tool essential to discerning truth) and to replace it with a programed response devoid of thought.

The horrific irony here is that we are creating AI with comprehensive analytical programs at precisely the same time we are intentionally destroying these processes in humans. That combination will only end in a civilization enslaved by machines. At no point should a human be enslaved by its tools.

I find myself withdrawing more now because there simply is too much ignorance to confront. You can't have rational discussions with people who can't think for themselves and who just repeat the same lies over and over with no frame of reference with which to even discuss why their claims are false. And to top it off they are wholly convinced that they are not only correct, but that they are more intelligent though they won't or can't read anything longer than a text, can't organize a thought in a paragraph, can't spell, and can't follow the logic in a syllogism.

Preach it brother!

There are people who aren't gifted mentally. Joe Biden for one. But then there are people with natural intelligence who are just unbelievably stupid. I have become amazed at the stupidity. I might think it was just message board posters, but I hear it from just about every Democratic politician.

What I really have is a low tolerance for is hypocrisy.

And when you top it off with arrogance like the media does, its just ridiculous.

RE: Double Standard
I have found a couple of good sources for less-biased news:

allsides.com presents one article from the left, one from the right, and one from the center. It actually does a pretty good job, although it's generally a day behind so it's not the place for breaking news.

Foreign news sources are biased, but at least they're not biased in favor of Team Blue or Team Red. Their bias is completely different, and it's different depending on the country. So I find it more enjoyable to read than US news sources. One place I get foreign news is watchingamerica.com - this site translates non-English articles into English.

allsides.com presents one article from the left, one from the right, and one from the center.

I visit RealClearPolitics.com. They have articles from the left and the right. Of course, they ARE left or right articles. So some of it is drivel.

BBC is liberal and Al-Jazeera has its biases, but I find them much easier to read than American sources. They are professional and don't mix editorial comment with news stories like American media does. More accurate, the American media mixes some news amongst their editorial comment. AP is even worse than WaPo and almost as bad as the fake News York Times. Reuters isn't quite as bad.

On RealClearPolitics, I'm more likely to read Salon or Huffington Post than NBC or WaPo. They don't try to hide their biases and don't deliberately lie with their headlines. They may have weird takes, but they aren't outright lying to you like NBC and WaPo do (let alone CNN and NYT).

I deleted both of those accounts myself. And I've been using duckduckgo for a couple of years now. I never cared for the android although I know many who love it. I don't shop on Amazon a lot but man is it convenient when I do. I rarely watch ANY news broadcasts but I wouldn't say I'm boycotting them, I just got tired of the lies and negative news.

NPR is pretty good too for news.
