Washington 84, Colorado 80

Washington has won just 2 games this entire year. Not 2 Pathetic 12 games, 2 games total. Their other win was against Seattle University. Their NET ranking is 204. Colorado is competing for an NCAA Tournament bid (or maybe was after this game).

DePaul 68, Marquette 61

There should be a list of teams that if you lose to you qualify for this list. DePaul's one of them. Especially if you lose to them at home like Marquette did. Nebraska. Washington.

True. That said, home games are much less of an advantage this season, as we’ve seen so far.

DePaul's last two conference wins have come against Marquette. 1) Last night and 2) March 3rd last season. Wojo has had more losses to DePaul than Buzz Williams and Tom Crean had combined. Definitely an alarming cause for concern.

As a casual IU fan I wish y’all could’ve kept Crean. Would he ever be welcome back somewhere down the line?

Crean did return for our 100 year anniversary celebration a few years ago, which featured a round table of all of our surviving former head coaches (except Buzz Williams). Marquette has a different AD and President than when he was last here. By all accounts, he is enjoying life and coaching at Georgia. I cannot, at this point, see there being much, if any, mutual interest in a reunion. I was puzzled at the fit of UGA and Crean when he was hired; Crean had always been a Midwest guy and seemed primed to be offered a similar-style position at a basketball-first school. Regardless, it appears Georgia is on the path to becoming a top-half SEC basketball program, thanks to Crean's leadership. In the long-run, it mind end up being a great fit for both parties.

Thanks! I appreciate the analysis; makes sense. 04-cheers

Carver popped up again today and actually scored 60 points! Still lost by 45, though.

...I give up with Marquette this year. They actually should be a top 15 team when you consider what their potential really is (it's incredible) - but those goofballs are going to drop so many silly games that they may not even sniff the tournament...

It's just so odd.

I checked to see if they had a record posted...0-24 as of that article. That was before the Nicholls game, so...0-25? Just wow.

Still, 60 for Carver against a D1 team...it’s their best offensive showing I think?

It's just so odd.

You and a majority of the MU fan base. The loss throws a ton of water on the team's tournament chances (as split as they were going into the DePaul game). Still many games left, but the team has apparent and continued weaknesses/flaws (turnovers, ballhandling, defense, etc.) that show it is simply not a high-major-quality team this year.

If MU continues to play like it has the past 2-3 weeks, it will struggle to win a majority of its remaining games. For various reasons, MU teams under Wojo seem to regress as the season plays out, especially bottoming-out near the end. I struggle to find another program that is similar.

Rutgers 67, Michigan State 37

I know Rutgers is NCAA caliber this season but the thought of a team that hasn't made the NCAA Tournament since I was in high school beating Michigan State by 30 points just looks laughable. The last time Michigan State legitimately missed the NCAA Tournament was 1997! I had to Wikipedia that stat.

The last three games have been better for them in that they can crack 50 or 60 points. Lost last night to Stetson by 54, though.

They finally got some time to rest after that crazy December.

The four games in 2021 were recent additions, and I wonder if we’ll see any more February games. I thought it was done for them after Troy...and then they came back for more.

Its a good possibility. Someone who has a couple weeks of cancelled games right before their conference tournament might want to get on the court.
