As of now, there are only two games scheduled to be played in the WAC this week; Grand Canyon at Dixie State twice. Chicago State has shutdown the season and both NMSU and Seattle U are on a COVID pause. That leaves Utah Valley, Cal Baptist, UT Rio Grande Valley, and Tarleton State without games. This is the week Utah Valley is suppose to be off and Tarleton State is scheduled to play at Utah Valley next week. Maybe both teams can play their two games series this week instead of next week. And, Cal Baptist was scheduled to play Chicago State and UTRGV was scheduled to play NMSU this week. Maybe UT Rio Grande Valley can travel to Cal Baptist this week for their series instead of sitting idle. These two are currently scheduled to meet in mid-February. This way WAC games can continue to be played; freeing up potential future dates weeks in advance for WAC teams who might need to add games down the road.

Yes, that would be the best way to handle this. Get conference matchups when and where you can because who knows what will happen on a particular day in the future.

GCU and NMSU women bumped up their series when both were left without games last week. Maybe it was made easier by teams already being in the same city, but I agree that it would be nice to see the same flexibility on the men's side.

NMSU and UNM are able to go back to NM, that's good news.

I agree, if I heard correctly they still plan to play home games at GCU unless they can find options in UTEP?

Chicago State "delaying" WVB now. Any bets on how long the "delay" is going to last?

Not necessarily UTEP, but El Paso. Mario mentioned we still have GCU as a fall back for MBB, but it looks like NMSU is looking to El Paso for all sports going forward.

This is what a ***** of a gov. we have:

Quote:The amendment was posted online and confirmed to the Journal via email when asked by a spokeswoman of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. No formal announcement was made by the state or either university until after news broke of the new rule.

UTRGV slides into Seattle's spot @ Tarleton this Saturday 1/23, 2pm tipoff. Have to assume a Friday game as well.

So far, it’s only Saturday and will show as a non-conference game.

Ahhh

Honest question from someone ignorant of the rules: How can it be a non-conference game? Is it because they're keeping both of the originally scheduled UTRGV-Tarleton games, and you can only have two?

Yep, won't affect the original schedule. And it'll be on ESPN+ 04-cheers

Tarleton vs UTRGV has been cancelled due to positive tests within the Vaquero program.
