Only about 9,000 people have actually died from Coronabug--according to, wait for it, the CDC..you know, the ones who spread unfounded panic across the country for nothing. The CDC also admits in a footnote buried in their reports, that there is no concrete evidence that mask wearing has effectiveness against the Coronabug, which again has only actually killed about 9,000 people TOTAL!

Doctors across the country should be ashamed of themselves for hurting so many poor working people for nothing.

Take off your mask, get back to work, stop the bs and help Make America Great Again...Again!

You either cannot read or are being willfully disingenuous if you think only 9,000 people have died from Coronavirus.

You either can not read or are being willfully disingenuous if you think that more than about 9,000 have died from just the coronabug.

Do people die every day? A: Yes.
Have people died during the past year? A: Yes.
Do all the deaths relate to coronabug just because they happen to have died in the time when there was a coronabug? A: No.
Would most or many of those people who actually died of other causes, but may have been exposed to coronabug have died anyway from their other conditions that actually caused their deaths? A: Yes.
Do hospitals and providers get paid-off extra money for suggesting coronabug was involved in deaths? A: Most Definitely, Yes.
Would/will severely crippling and/or shutting down the economy again and keeping ignorant people scared of the boogeyman help far-left democrats get elected and implement their anti-American agenda? A: Yes, that very much appears to be what they're betting on, along with keeping America ignorant as your response above.

The reports indicates only about 9,000 or so people actually died of just the coronabug, and the others that died had serious underlying conditions that were just as, if not usually more life-threatening than coronabug and would have caused them to die, regardless of cornabug presence or not.But...Orange Man bad, so therefore, pandemic has "killed" millions..just as CNN commands you to believe. And, I have a sale on a big bridge in a swamp you'd also be interested in.

Drain the swamp and restore journalism to the media, and science to the CDC. They should be ashamed of themselves, and probably face criminal charges for what they've done to hurt poor people in this country.

With that 9,000, you have to understand that many of the other 161,000 would still be alive without the disease. How many? Who knows? Its not all 161,000. Maybe its only 1,000. Maybe its 100,000.

maybe it is simply 'x'...

as usual, the good owl nailed it....he's simply nicer than thine....

yeah, I'm still pissed....

CDC and FDA totally screwed the pooch on this. They won't be punished, because circle the wagons is the law of bureaucrat-land. But we should never again rely on bureaucrats to do emergency responder jobs.

which is why I'm pissed at those that know better....

Quote:Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky slammed coronavirus mask mandates in an interview Saturday, saying they’re unscientific and comparing the effectiveness of most masks to “wearing your underwear” on your face.

Paul, a physician, noted that places with strict mask mandates have experienced a spike in COVID-19 infections.

“Every one of the mandates — and you look in country after country, state after state — you look at when the mask mandates went in — the incidents went up exponentially after the mandates,” the senator told Breitbart News. “Restaurants, nobody can eat in a restaurant, there’s no science behind any of that.”

Paul said “there’s NO evidence” that the masks worn by most Americans slow the spread of the coronavirus.

“The masks aren’t working at all,” he said. “The thing’s going through the roof and people are dying. …there’s no value to the cloth mask, at all.

“It’s like wearing your underwear. You might as well cut your underwear up and wear your underwear as protection. It doesn’t work.”

Not a miracle...just science.
If my memory serves me...the Flu incubation period is 2-4 days. Most people that contract the flu get sick and stay home within that period because they feel so bad and don't spread it beyond their immediate family. Thats why you see whole households get sick from the flu at one time. Basically that family contained the spread on its own by self quarantine.

The covid incubation period is 2-14 days and you can shed the virus aprox. 48hrs before you feel sick. So it is easy to see how covid spreads unknowingly during that period. We also have aprox. 20% of people that contract covid that have zero symptoms and yet are spreaders of the thing for around 10 to 14 days.

It should not be a surprise that the Flu is down and that Covid still is rages on...simply because of the incubation periods of the 2 viruses and that a segment of the population has revolted(and I fully understand) against any mitigation efforts and masking is really not anything but a help..not serious mitigator unless you are fitted with an M95...also..social distancing(mostly) and masking really make a hell of an dent in the regular flu. I think this was predicted early on as a consequence of covid measures.

(03-13-2020 08:59 AM)GoodOwl Wrote:  This really seems to be a huge over-reaction. Avg age of death from this not-even-close-to-as-deadly-as-regular-flu bug is currently 80. As for one example, I don't know that many octogenarians who are regularly getting out to sports events and hitting the town. While some are in good shape, a lot stay close to home and watch sports games remotely anyway. Also at risk are the very young, babies--few of which seem to go out to games. Finally, those that are very ill or sickly in the first place, and few if any of them are hanging out at ballparks or ballgames rather than convalescing at home or a hospital or clinic. So who is this for? If Kershaw or Acuna, Jr. gets the virus, they are on DL for a week or two, stay home, drink fluids and are back--maybe a little longer than if they get the regular flu, but they are in less danger from this coronabug than the regular flu.

One of the few benefits of the current hysteria this may help, and I'm willing to bet the effects are only temporarily, is the millions of folks who go to public places and public restrooms and do not even attempt to wash their hands at all, much less taking 20-30 seconds to vigorously wash with soap and dry them. Men are notoriously failing to do this, but many more women than you think also do not wash their hands or wash them thoroughly. If we'd all simply use better daily hygiene habits, which costs little to nothing, we could cut medical care costs and the effects of these bugs down by a significant factor.

I'll disagree with these decisions, as I think there are a few agendas behind them, but cancelling or delaying all these events seems rash and irresponsible needlessly stoking fear at a level unwarranted for something that is not very deadly versus other, more common illnesses out there that people routinely seem to ignore. For one example, HIOV infections and such should reasonably be far more concerning and behavior-changing, as the risk-to-infection rates and possible severe health consequences or death risks are much higher. But trying to ask people to act responsibly in that area is like trying to pull a camel through a needle.

If levels of deaths approach the actual flu (I think one figure I've seen is annually around 60,0000 regular flu deaths per season just in US alone--whereas this bug has only around 40 deaths so far--and regular flu kills younger folks but this virus seems most dangerous primarily for folks around 80) I'll reassess.

Most guidance from medical experts seems to be that even those who actually become infected with this coronabug may not even see any significant symptoms, if at all, and most all will overcome it normally. It would seem best simply to keep clean and get bed-rest if needed (and most of us could use a bit more than we get anyway--put down the phones for a while and turn them off, not on standby--read a book or two instead; and I know, I'm here posting today, but I haven't been on for a few days as I've been pretty busy with work so I have been absolutely amazed at the rampant unnecessary hysteria levels that have been stirred up. The lack of intelligence of the people propagated by the public education system of the past several decades is showing clearly. Chicken, meet heads cut off.

If you're elderly, or sickly, or a baby then you need to be concerned and take these extra precautions. The rest of America would do well to start using soap and water for 20-30 seconds every time they use the restroom and just get back to work already.

I'm also tremendously disappointed in those from the conservative side who seem to have fallen for this ruse, though haven't lost my mind enough to even consider voting for the imbeciles from the left who are eagerly fanning the non-necessary panic in a political attempt to change an election outcome that cannot win based on merit. Other than chicken noodle soup sales spiking, there really doesn't appear to be the need for any major economic or societal disruption effects.

Well...whaddaya know?! The WHO now admits today that: This coronabug is waaay over-exaggerated...that this seems to be an overreaction! Just like I and millions of others suspected all along! WHO Knew?! Liars!
