Some good games today. Of note, the UAB/Charlotte game on ESPNU is an early game, tipping at 4CST.

Seems too early to say that UNT MUST-WIN both these games this weekend, but we don't know how many games we will all end up playing. And it seems that winning the home games you have is absolutely essential if you want to stay above the crowd this short, weird season. Everybody is losing roadies this year.

USM goes 2-0 this weekend.

I kept waiting for the 10-point ODU run. This Rice team is a pleasant surprise so far.

I second that.

Rice was picked last in the conference preseason polls (based on the fact that they lost transfers to Virginia and USC primarily). But you can make a good argument that the transfers we brought in aren't that big of a drop off (and in fact might be a better mix for what we want do on offense).

No other conference coaches like him as a person for the most part, but you have to give Scott Pera coach of the year at this point of the season.

Rice is the first conference team to double digits in wins.

Looks like the Belmont-Abbey loss has affected the 49ers. UAB up 37-11 at the half.

Tops get a nice home win 81-73 over the Herd. I always feel confident when playing Marshall because they seem to be allergic to defense. No doubt we will get smoked there on Sunday but nice to get the first leg.

That gets WKU 10 wins to match Rice.

Rice still the only team with 4 conference wins.

UAB keeping pace with Rice to stay 3 games above .500 (3-0).

Looks like UAB laid the smack down on Charlotte today. Maybe I'm glad our series got bumped.

Charlotte has quit. I don't know the cause of the problem, but this team doesn't care.
