CBU @ UVU - split Friday/Saturday.
GCU @ Tarleton - both games to GCU, by a total of 20 points.

GCU has a lot of ground to make up tomorrow if they're going to come through on your prediction. Ugly, ugly game.

Watching on ESPN. I haven’t seen GCU play before so I’m not sure if they’re playing good, bad or average but Tarleton is playing horrible. A lot of dumb decisions and missed layups.

K

Just busting your chops. Point is, it could be argued that both teams could/should have played better tonight. Bottom line is GCU, a +100 Net ranked team, got pulled into a dogfight by a much, much smaller and inexperienced team. The rest of the WAC should take notice. Tarleton has been doing this for decades.

I recommend R&R BBQ for lunch tomorrow.
I'm not familiar with them, but everyone always gets pushed to Hard 8.

Is it better than Hard8?

Well I was originally gonna say both teams were playing terrible, but I thought that’d come across bad, so that was my attempt to hide that comment lol

I like the free parking Tarleton has. And I like their alma mater thing at the end that everyone stayed for..except for me. That ending seemed a little anticlimactic even though it was a last second shot. Everyone just kinda got quiet after the buzzer. It was a weird feeling. I blame covid.

I'm glad you made it out the Gym. Tarleton is not used to losing at home and we always feel like we will have some of that Wisdom Magic so maybe that had something to do with it.

Watching online covid seems to have dampened the spirit and makes it feel stale. In a regular season, the student section would be on the baseline (where the scores table is tonight) and full of life.

Enjoy your stay and safe travels

Wisdom Gym initial thoughts

Camera's are on the wrong side of the gym
The railing where ppl can stand and block the view of the cameras needs to be fixed
The away teams exit you have to walk up next to the stands

All are D2 issues that will get ironed out.

TSU reminds me of CSU Bakersfield just a pest and daring refs to blow their whistles but like Bake TSU slowed down as the game went on.

GCU played like garbage but unlike years past a role player stepped up and took care of enough business to get the job done.

I'm not sure I heard the broadcast right but what do they call the TSU student section?

I agree, I do not like the camera location. In previous years, it was on the otherside and faced the student stands rather than the players/coaches benches.
I dont know if this is a Covid thing or a BCG thing.

The Student Section doesn't have a unified name. Technically there is not reserved seating for each organization but everyone has their spot during a normal season, going across your radio dial from Left to Right you would typically have

FOUL PLAY (The Basketball pep band),
The Plowboys (an all male spirit organization dressed in cowboy hats and chaps), then
PANKUS (another spirit org dressed in purple and white overalls or Body Paint) followed by any number of Greek orgs up and down the baseline.
The Purple Poo, a masked organization, act like clowns and walk everywhere during the game to drum up support.

The upper area is the rest of the Students.
The Cheerleaders typically hang out under the basketball.

Covid has made a mess of this.

The espn app is real slow updating this game for some reason. It’s always about 5 minutes behind (game minutes, not real time). So I’m assuming the uvu-cbu game is farther along than it’s showing.

There is a difference between simply playing bad and being forced into playing bad. Either way, be honest with yourself.

Remember you are seeing and judging Wisdom during the midst of Covid restrictions. Only 50% capacity permissable. Our home court advantage has always been loud and rowdy (borderline obnoxious) fans packed into a very small space. Complete opposite of that right now. Look at the Tarleton logo midcourt, of course the camera is usually on the other side. C'mon, man.

Your gym only seats 30 people. Are there like 4 people in each of these organizations?

Was that actually a foul on that fast break? There aren’t any replays here and it looked like to me the tarleton guy just lost the ball when he went up.

Yep, You got me bruh.

We can't all be Pandamanian Devils or whatever.

You did get me thinking though, correct me if I'm wrong but nmsu (Panamaniacs) and GCU (Havoc) have chosen to brand your student sections with a single name similar to the Cameron Crazies or Izzone.

Is there a common culture, look and feel or is it a fancy name like "The 12th Man"

Not watching tonight, but he did take a hard hit last night going into the paint...

Maybe BCG is practicing load management?

Ok Dotsenko could've been hurt/injured, but I'm dying to know what the beef is between BCG and Madimba. He looked fresh and ready to go, again, and yet he sits. Front row, no less. If ever there was a time we needed a big & physical Guard it was this series. I need answers.
