It is possible that some FCS might see this spring as a chance to get more exposure than they normally would get going up against FBS and the NFL.

But if I were running an FCS program, I would just skip. The logistics of playing football games in to May, with a Fall season just three months later, seems silly.

The expense is going to be too much. And the virus shows no sign of slowing down. The vaccines won't be with the general population until April.

I think April is a very optimistic view for the vaccines(s). I'm in two high risk categories (over 75 and diabetic). I'm hoping I can be vaccinated by the end of April, but I'm not betting on it.

My parents are high risk and are due in the next week or so. I'm hearing one of my college students is eligible in the next few weeks.

I hope they get a place in line soon. So far, I have heard absolutely nothing about when I can expect to get in line. This appears to be a county by county thing, with no coordinated plans even at state level.

Well my daughter in Alaska has had the first shot. She's a first responder/dispatcher and it was a requirement, but she willingly took it. We are certainly praying there are no widespread ill effects and so far there have been something like 23 cases of reactions out of over 5 million vaccines so so far so good. Most of the reactions have been mild flu symptoms, sore arms, and the 23 cases were variations on standard anaphylactic shock. In Alaska they are keeping antihistamines at the ready for such.

Still can’t believe she lives there. IIRC, there’s no way to get there by road (have to fly). I think NBC hosted a Today Show there a year or two ago.

Yes she lives a block and half from the arctic ocean. And yes you have to fly in there, unless you want to wait for the Pack Ice to break up and take a slow boat to Barrow.

Although she has been credited with saving two lives by triangulating their cell phone signal, her claim to fame is she is a fine art photographer whose work is in 3 museums on the West Coast and Alaska and her work adorns one of the Alaska Anchorage buildings. We miss her, but she's smart and tough!
