It was an overwhelmingly white group though. That gets at the heart of the inconsistency of the response to yesterday’s mob act of terrorism vs other protests in response to police killings. If this had been a BLM protest that did this, or even a peaceful MLK/NAACP/SCLC-type March that got that close to the capitol and senators, there would be thousands dead today.

Yes it was a majority of white people committing this insidious act but all races and many nationalities were represented in the coup attempt.

Personally, I know I will not ever step foot at a UAB event again. It sickens me to know that I can be seating next to someone that shares the same views as the people who invaded the Capitol yesterday.

That’s just stupid. They are everywhere especially in Alabama. Don’t go to a movie. Don’t go out to eat. Don’t go to Disney World. I hate to tell you they are everywhere. There are stupid bigots in every corner of the country. Even if you leave the country you’ll find ignorant racists everywhere it just a matter of who they hate.

I want to go on the record and say what I saw yesterday made me absolutely sick. And I blame Trump for it. Holding that stupid rally on the mall, and making the statements he did about what Pence was going to do, what happened was completely foreseeable. As someone who has taken an oath to support and defend the Constitution, I was and am appalled. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing- capitol security with their weapons drawn in the House chamber; some hoodlum standing on the dais in the Senate chamber; other hoodlums breaking into the offices of members of Congress. We look like a f*cking third world banana republic. Disgraceful. I'm not thrilled about the incoming leadership in Washington, but I'm ready for Donald Trump to be gone.
