I live in the heart of Buckeye country and feel like I have to hide the fact that I care none.

Well, I guess a Tide win makes life easier

I am a Bearcat in Buckeyetown. I wear my UC stuff everywhere and have for years now.

The buckeyes are OK with it, especially now since Fickell took over.

But they all assume that UC is just a side deal and your true loyalty is to the suckeyes. They really are shocked when you tell them no.

The system is set up this way, this is why I say to make it fair the best of the g5 should play the best of the p5 to determine who is the best.

Alabama is my backup team after buying my way into the fanbase with tuition for my son. It’s lovely having a semi-pro team to root for after the season ends.

@Brett_McMurphy
Because of COVID issues at Ohio State, there has been discussions about postponing @CFBPlayoff title game to Jan. 18, sources told @Stadium. 1st reported by @JTalty & @mzenitz. The game - for now - remains scheduled for Monday night

Wow! They basically all had Covid a month or so ago. I'm surprised they are still having issues.

It will be the highest rated game all year. Maybe ever.

lol sports ratings were down all year in 2020. There were no interesting story lines in 2020 for college football. Only interesting thing to see is Justin Fields. This will be lowest rated CFP. I didn't even know Alabama and Notre Dame played.

You think the Big 10 champ vs the SEC champ, two sections of country with the most avid fans, two geographically distinct regions and two historic top 10 teams will be a low rating game.

Ok
03-lmfao

That may make sense on the low iq mt.org. Not here.

If people aren't watching sports across the board then why would that change now? You are the only person with low iq. Let's pretend Covid doesn't exist herp derp

Yep, the new power five is Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Notre Dame.

From time to time you’ll see an LSU, Georgia, or Oregon... but the above 5 will always be in the picture.

Every P5 team rides the coattails of those schools.

Bowl ratings are in (obviously except the Invitational final game and a couple OTA). Sportsmediawatch hasn't updated the full tables yet. You can fight through multiple harder to read tables at showbuzzdaily.

Sportsmediawatch has posted an article: https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2021/01...iewership/
Low numbers for New Year's Day semis, but still highest non-NFL sports events for the year.
I'll stick with my 27 million viewers guess for the final. If it's potponed further into NFL playoff window I might adjust down.
Of note Cincinnati Peach Bowl in the neighborhood of UCF's NY6 games. All three bigger than Boise's Fiesta in the CFP era.

Yeah, I was at friend’s home NYD, and her hubby had Buckeye game on. He didn’t go to college, but Buckeyes are his team. I’d peek in every once in a while pretending to be interested, while i whispered to the wife that I didn’t give a **** about the game or Ohio State.

Like you said, there’s this expectation that you’re supposed to care.

Occasionally, I’ll explain the reasoning: My first football game ever was at UC when I was about 3 with my dad - I remember the day clearly. My first basketball game was at UC, in the 1960’s. I was probably five years old. UC games were on tv at my home. When I was young, UC was fresh off two national championships. I pulled all nighters at UC. I donate to UC. I have two degrees from UC. I have season tickets to UC. Why should I care about Ohio State?

Yep, I pretty much have the same mindset up here in NW Ohio... Having to endure the daily glorious rantings from the local o$u slappies, I just instill in them that I have my degree from the University of Toledo / 3 of my kids have UT degrees /and that I have been a season ticket holder for over 32 years... Became a Rocket fan well before the 35-0 (1969-71) amazing run, growing up going to games at the Glass Bowl...
Regardless, bucknuts still seem to think that I am compelled to genuflect at the altar of buckeye athletics because I live in Ohio... Could care less about Woody or even Bo for that matter...

Yeah, I don't see how you can be a CFB fan and not watch. Even if you think the CFP is bogus, how can you not enjoy watching Alabama play Ohio State for any reason?

RE: Alabama and Ohio st in CFP... woooopie ,
It's easy to be a fan of a sport and not watch...If two teams who you have no invested interest are playing...then who cares. Im a HUGE baseball fan. I love my Cincinnati Reds. However, I hate the AL, pansy ball needs to go. So when its the Astros/Yankees/Red Sox especially playing for the AL and then a team in the NL I have no interest in...I tend to not watch the series. I tend to root for all NL central teams when not playing the Reds. Teams like Padres, Diamondbacks, Marlins though..I could care less. Why watch?

So same thing with NCAA - I love TU and cheer for AAC overall. However, outside of that I have teams I like and don't like. I have a hatred for Alabama and just no interest in the Buckeyes...so why would I want to watch a game between a team I hate and a team I just don't care about?

Been a lot of fun to watch. Love him or hate him, Saban will go down as GOAT.

If you didn’t watch you missed watching about 1/4 of the 1st round of the NFL draft.
