What an odd year. I wanted to thank everyone on the board for making Bearcat Banter a great escape from probably the weirdest year of my life. I really appreciate this online community and each and every poster we have. Even when we butt heads it's nothing personal and I am glad to get to read all of your perspectives.
This has been a year where I've spent almost all my free time with my 2 year old daughter and wife. We've had a lot of takeout trying to support our favorite restaurants and made a point to buy from the local coffee shops. The extra time with immediate family has probably been the one good thing that has come from this mess. We've lost family, lost friends. Others have struggled fighting this illness, but we've made the best of it.
And as always the Bearcats have been a great source of joy and the football team's success couldn't have come at a better time. I know I leaned on this board harder in games this year not being able to attend game and not getting together with people for most of them. Been great having you all to discuss the games and keep me company as the Bearcats roll the competition (let's ignore basketball for now). And it's great to have Billy's optimism when thing start to go bad.
Here's hoping the vaccine spreads quickly. Life gets back to normal by summer. And I can see some of you in South Bend this fall and back down at Nippert every other weekend. Thanks again.
As a mod I try to be fair to everyone. Please feel free to keep reaching out with issues and I look forward to the year to come.
Kudos Mark! This board has been an escape for me for many of the reasons you mentioned but also due to my wife's continuing battle with cancer. It has been a roller coaster ride for the past 16 months and I'm tired of riding it. She's scheduled for surgery in February but that is up in the air due to the COVID situation and the supply of available ICU beds. I apologize in advance to anyone on the board if there's been times I've been touchy on here. Sometimes, the release of frustration, anger, helplessness, mental/emotional fatigue can rear its head in different ways. I am proudly a person of faith and that has been tremendous in helping to cope with a sick spouse. However, being a passionate Bearcat alum and fan and spending time with guys who share that has also been a coping help. Thanks to all for your love and support of our Bearcats family. My advice to the board is to please love on your family and appreciate every day you have with them because in one instant circumstances can change. Here's to a better and brighter new year in 2021 to all!
Happy New Year to my fellow Bearcat fans! Best of luck if to you and your wife 92. Like you this board serves as a distraction for me for various stressors faced on a daily basis.
Mark, you do a great job as a mod. This has to have been a tough year to moderate considering such intertwining of politics, human interest and sport. With the virus, it was really easy for the rabbit hole to be opened whenever we wondered about whether there would be a season or if each game was going to be canceled.
Looking forward to the Bearcats putting on a show tomorrow in Atlanta. Go Bearcats!
We started vaccinating staff at our little hospital today. Got the vaccine supply on Monday and did not think we would get any until February. Amazing.
Whatever you think about Covid, it sure doesn’t seem to want to go away. Hopefully the vaccine will improve things quickly. Please get vaccinated and help us get us back to normal!
Rough year for me, like many, but this board was a nice escape. And one of the cool constants in life. Here's hoping we close it out safely tonight and the Bearcats kick off a much better year tomorrow.

I could see them losing and still starting well above 20. Clearly depends on who returns and how they lose, but I’m expecting they will be ranked ahead of 20 next year barring a blow out and players leaving early.
It’s sad that tomorrow is the end of an amazing season. It’s been such a wonderful year and I wish it wasn’t ending. Let’s hope they end this season with a win and start the 2021 calendar year with a win.

I don't post too much, but I enjoy visiting and seeing what you guys have to say about the Bearcats. The UC basketball team is really the only sports team that I still follow closely.
