Sure let’s bring in another OC and he will ultimately run what Bill wants and people will complain. I think the move to make is hire Freeman from Thompson and make him QB coach and an Associate HC to eventually take over as OC. Still he will run what Bill wants to fit our personnel. Bill is always looking at where he can improve things. I’ll let him be the coach and do his job and enjoy the continued success.

Yes what coach wants will help recruiting and it will also help take those next step last towards a new home. Instead of griping folks need to pony up. I just increased mine. Who is next?

This. No one may be saying it out loud, but part of getting to the AAC is getting our house in the best order possible. We want to compare favorably to the programs there in terms of facilities. We have come a looooong way on that, and I have to give Mark Ingram due credit for that. All of our sports, particularly the various Olympic sports, are far better off then when he took over. Basketball and baseball are the outliers, and both of them have things on the drawing board. These also will require donations if we want them to happen. We gotta give what we can to support progress in our athletic department. I know that most of us here have been, but money is the biggest way that we can help make the things that we want to happen get done.

Getting Coach the stuff he's asking for seems like a no-brainer. Seriously, on the scale of things, a grass field and a cafeteria are not a big ask, and cost small change compared to the football building and getting a stadium. We have to give till it hurts and make it happen if we want out of C-USA.

When the next conference realignment hits, we need those conferences to look at C-USA and see UAB stand out as the best looking prospect.

I'd applaud the hire of Freeman to the skies. He might not work out, but I see him as a very desirable hire who would bring a lot of positives to our team. He's the kind of guy to roll the dice on. Reminds me of Clark in many ways. Given my druthers, he'd replace Brian Vincent asap.

Chances are if you get Mark Freeman then the 2022 signing class will include QB Connor Harrell. He's really, really good.

I’m there with you
But I’ve been told, the grass field is classified under the facility umbrella. No news on the cafeteria fund raising
