James Smith - #1 P
James Wiggins - #6 FS
Darrick Forrest - #6 SS
FWIW they also have the following ranks for individuals who are not seniors:
James Hudson - #6 OT in 2022 Draft
Desmond Ridder - #7 QB in 2022 Draft
Myjai Sanders - #10 EDGE in 2022 Draft
So we could have a pretty decent draft year depending on who goes, because I think I team might take a chance with someone like Harper, Ponder, Bryant, or White late too.
But we just don’t have the same type of talent as the P5? Lol!
There is a lot of NFL talent on this team. Consider some of the younger guys like Whyle, Ford, Gardner, etc... and there is plenty of talent. With guys like Bryant and Ponder likely to at least get a camp tryout there are potential NFL players all over this team. I was hoping we would retain a few key pieces but putting players in the NFL is one heck of a recruiting tool. Especially if we are putting players in after 3 years.
This is where those recruiting classes and player development become important. If we end up losing the majority of the players it’s time for the next group to step up and keep the momentum.
Bearcats have more than NFL talent.
LBs Beavers and Dublanko have the size and speed that the NFL wants.
All the DBs have the size (6 feet tall) that most NFL teams want
(maybe the exception is Jarell White.)
Question 1: S Jarell White is listed at 5-10, 205. Is he two small for the NFL? After four solid years at UC, I would love to see him back at UC.
Question 2: How many Bearcats will be drafted this year?
The record is 5 in 1998: Fabini, Artrell Hawkins, Derrick Ransom
The 1998 team beats both 2012 with 4: Derek Wolfe, John Hughes. Isaiah Pead
and 2009 with 4: Connor Barwin, Kevin Huber
I'm going to guess three, because great college teams have good NFL talent.
My final three: Sanders, Wiggins, Forrest.
The Georgia QB JT Daniels is supposed to be drafted mid-first round. He has started four games for Georgia. In 2019 and 2018 he had two bad years at USC. That's his record. Let's see him do something against Sauce and Wiggins and Bryant and Hicks and Forrest and Cook and whoever....
