RE: 2021 Football Recruiting
Personally, I enjoy Collinsworth. I can see why people get annoyed with him- it's a different style. Frankly though, I can easily think of several other NFL color guys who either possess less knowledge or are otherwise more grating. And when I say "less knowledge"...I mean the ability to articulate it to the neophytes watching. To each his own

He's supposed to represent John Q. Everyman from Iowa or some bullsh!! like that. He was a terrible WR and a worse announcer.

We're screwed. This is Alger's fault!

I'm blaming Lou Rowe for this one. (I'm behind my required quota on blaming Lou Rowe and need to blame him for a lot of stuff over the last 2 weeks of this year...or, I lose out on my Dukes Domain bonus)

I've of course among other things previously blamed Alger and Bourne for:

-COVID
-Male pattern baldness
-The Houston Astros' cheating
-Chris Collinsworth's voice
-That black stuff running down Rudy Giulliani's face

04-cheers
Leave Lou alone, he bleeds purple, it wasn't his fault he accepted the job.

I need to work on my sarcasm. My tongue was firmly in my cheek on that one. Figured you'd get that. Oh well. 04-cheers

What about his son? Caught them talking to one another during the Sunday Night Football NBC pre-game. Realized again why I never watch pre-game shows.

Wonder if we even tried, or had other recruiting priorities. It doesn't sound like we have much left in terms of scholies for this year after signing day.

At first glance, Patterson looks like one of those dual-threat running QBs that they thrive on there.

I am a faculty member at VT so I've seen Quincy a few times up close. He's a big body, almost Tebow style QB. However, he was never going to be the full-time starter at VT because of the pass game. He takes a lot of risks and mostly throws 20+ yard routes, never really was able to consistently throw the ball underneath. If they can develop him as a QB willing to take the short stuff, he may start for them. Otherwise, I could see him in some Wildcat packages for them if he's not the starter, he's hard to tackle.

Congratulations... NDSU is going from a top-10 NFL Draft Pick, to Virginia Tech's 3rd string quarterback who couldn't learn the playbook in the 2 years he spent there. Not worried about it.

To be fair to Patterson, Tech fans might argue that Fuentes does not have a playbook. With all the transfer in and out and inability to develop any of his recruits, they play like a team who makes stuff up depending on who they may have to start at QB that week.

I'd "guess" he likely had a choice to transfer to JMU and chose NDSU. I don't know that, but I can't imagine a 4 star in our own backyard would not of been the likely starter over our current players next fall.

Another Chokie QB, Hendon Hooker, announced he was entering the transfer portal late last week FWIW. Not saying the Dukes have a shot at him, but he's another one that's leaving their program. His bio says he's from Greensboro NC.

RE: 2021 Football Recruiting
My sense is that JMU feels good about their current QBs for Spring and Fall and that bringing in a transfer during this off season/compressed seasons would be difficult to integrate into a new system. Maybe we see a transfer for fall 22-23 of the younger guys on the roster don’t show enough development by then.

Some of you may remember Ali Jennings. He was a 3* WR from Highland Springs in Richmond.
I believe we were in his top number of schools (can’t remember the specific number) but JMU seems like it could be a logical landing spot considering he would have to redshirt at an FBS school.

If the NCAA passes the “One Time Transfer Rule” he can transfer to another FBS school without redshirting.

Congrats and welcome! I'm guessing with the lack of material on him that he's a partial guy or preferred walk on, but ya never know. Looks like he made 2nd team All Conference his last season which is a little low on the accolade totem pole, but he did have to sit out his senior season.
