Alice is not good at basketball. At least we get to see more of different lineup combos. Hahaha I just checked Alice’s team roster. They have 25 guys on the team. Is there a different set of rules for NAIA? Maybe it is a JV and varsity that all practice together?

Taylor getting some minutes but looks terrible. He has missed three three pointers badly and got called for a charge on a bad take to the basket. I know he is trying to transition to a different role in this system than he played at Wyoming but it tough to watch right now.

Is this a joke? Who scheduled this game? AL is an NAIA school with a student body of 549.

I guess Morse’s ankle is still jacked up from yesterday. No need to play him against Alice if he isn’t 100%.

Whoah, they have like 300 men in the whole school and 25 of them play basketball.

If nothing else, I have learned a lot in this thread and laughed along the way. I have a few relatives in Appalachia and this mascot is a legit icon. Perhaps he was educated at Alice way back when.

I'm not really for the D11 games, but in this case I thought it was needed.

I wish in playing the game they had worked more on their offensive sets and passing. I wasn't looking for a take the game over highlight film for Matt Lewis. This game was not about winning, it was learning to play with each other and the plays. There was too much watching Matt Lewis breakdown lessor defenders for my liking.

I think part of the opportunity was wasted, but getting another game in yesterday was certainly good for the team.

Good read in that Dnr article. Encouraging to see a few more guys show up with pretty solid stat lines, even if it was a 98 PT O-fest. No D in Alice.

Guess we’ll know a lot more come Tuesday...

Anyone got an opening line? Could be interesting.

This is half true. I really think we are seeing the emergence of terrance edwards as a great distributor. He is a combination of prince and rondo, and was a joy to watch yesterday.

If nothing else the game prepped the team for back to back Saturday/Sunday CAA games that will occur during the conference schedule. There is no way getting around tired legs this year during the unique weekend only CAA schedule.

I didn’t watch, but I agree that it was strategic to get the team used to playing back to back days.

And Dukester, they aren’t NCAA D2, they are NAIA D2. About as low on the totem pole as it gets.

Very fair point- too much one on one and not enough set plays. I do think if we expect Coach B to be a set play kind of coach we are going to be disappointed. The team will play sound offensively and I think the big difference will be defensively compared with the last few years but I think his style is to let guys play free on offense get up and down and he’s not going to play conventional post basketball.
