Who or what is Texas A&M International? Have the P5’s gotten so bloated than even their airports field teams?

I was finally learning about UVU, Seattle and UTRGVWYSIWYG and the like and now we are talking about Houston Eastern Southern Methodist, University of Colorado College, Tarleton Junior Aggies, ACU, Texas A&M International, etc. My head is literally spinning. I'm still not exactly sure of the names that are supposedly joining the WAC. When I saw Texas A&M International I had to think really hard about whether they were one of the TX4. I'm being serious...

Texas A&M International is a D2 school from the Lone Star Conference which was the conference Tarleton was located. They are located down in Laredo. They are a non-football playing institution.
And this lack of notoriety is one of the reason why Tarleton moved up.

Tarleton was scheduled to play two games this week, Howard Payne and McMurry, Thursday and Saturday respectively. Both have been postponed.

A&M is D2, I think. I honestly keep forgetting they exist. Don't worry about Southern Methodist, I don't think this is the Twilight Zone.

OK, you're right. University abbreviations shouldn't be more than 4 letters. IUPUI, TAMUCC, PVAMU....not exactly distinguished company. Having two U's in IUPUI was an especially bad decision.
We should have just been UT Valley.

Nobody cares. If you can’t differentiate the names of the college(s) in the conference you root for, you are not a real fan. Nobody at Texas A&M is concerned with the names of D2 schools. No Badger fan cares what the WAC does or who they invite.
If Southwestern Northern Tech University State College at Phoenix University online has a good athletics program and is in the western US, the WAC and other conferences should consider them based on what they bring, not what their name is.

UVU gave Utah a good game. They were in it up until the last minute of the game; losing 75-67. UVU might arguably have the strongest front court in the WAC with Fardaws Aimaq, Evan Cole, and JJ Overton. What the Wolverines appear to lack is a All-WAC point guard. Jordan Brinson and Blaze Nield are not on the same level as WAC PGs Jovan Blacksher and Evan Gilyard... and that might be what holds them back from being a top-tier WAC Championship challenger.

W/o a Cole Classic tonight UVU gets thumped.
Aimaq reminds me of Bakes Aly Ahmed.
If I'm the rest of the WAC minus ChicagoSt you still feel good playing UVU b/c of your point of their guard play and their depth issue.

I think Pojoaque is the only one left that has trouble with 1 too many letters.

Unless something changes last minute, CBU takes on Arizona today. This games should be interesting because Arizona struggles from behind the arc and CBU's offense lives there.

Dixie State goes to Southern Utah tonight; for a probable future WAC matchup. Regardless, it will become a budding State rivalry with Dixie State now elevating to D1.

Announcer said they hadn't played in 50 years?
Anyway looked like an even matchup. Nice SUU arena.

SUU beat Dixie State 85-78. The two schools haven't played each other since 1968. Now that they are both D1 and only 50 miles apart, I suspect it will be a yearly occurrence; especially if the SUU follows through on joining the WAC.
