Scott had 2 points in 37 minutes. Harvey was a basket shy of making it 5 players with double-digits.

Every one of our points, in OT, came in the paint. They could not stop Loewe and Covington's drives.

What a comeback, what a win!

I'm glad I refrained from posting when we were down earlier, some of those posts aged like milk

Except maybe for Prestige. His “welcome to the Fischer era!” easily morphs to a positive as the game turned.

WHAT. A. COMEBACK. Covington is going to be crazy good. First time I can ever remember the quickest guy on the court being on OUR team. What can you say about Luke. What a warrior tonight (wish he would have made that FT in regulation though). Harvey was huge, and Ben had some nice stickbacks once he settled in. Great coaching job by Dane and the staff keeping their heads in the game even when we were down 19. Horrible last shot by GW. This game should be a home and home for infinity. Too obvious to not schedule every year.

GW might not be top tier A10, but I don't get why they are so poor. I mean, obviously turning the ball over at a high clip & scoring droughts will always bite you in the butt most nights. They have talent, size, and what I consider a good coach in Jamion Christian. Very demoralizing on their end.

Important point there about the separation of duties. This is one of the things that impresses me the most about our coaching staff: delegating game duties means that they're aware that having a coach to focus on separate things makes us less likely to miss something. It's something that takes a lot of confidence and leadership from a head coach.

Interesting reading that Christian planned to implement the Mayhem press, his variation of Shaka's havok, this season. I recall some pressing, but I don't think the press gave us too much trouble. Perhaps it's a testament to having a cat quick Yuri bringing the ball up.

Wow. What a wonderful win for this young team. Someone might have already posted this observation but our offensive rebounding in the second half was super. Every kid on the floor played hard when they were in.

Can’t help but have a big smile on your face after that effort.

Looking at the replay, Battle (an overmatch for Yuri) curled around a foul line extended screen and was wide open for an easy alley-oop, but Bishop didn't throw him the pass. GW may have a player chemistry issue. Christian has his work cut out.

For those on here that are Twitter inclined, I highly recommend following the student ran Flag account ( @theflagatwandm ) if for nothing more than their entertaining meme game. While your at it, make sure to follow the best blogs/podcast in the CAA @wmsportsblog & @NoBidNation

If you need even more entertainment, add mid-major social media icon Cam Newton ( @morrisoncrying ). No, not that Cam Newton. The one that attends W&M law and is a fan.

RE: MBB 12/14 @GW
Wonderful road win for a young team showed lots of talent, heart, athleticism, poise and toughness.

*What a pair of guards in Loewe and Yuri.
-Loewe showed why he is true candidate for All-CAA; Covington, barring injury, is going to be an outstanding player for the
next four years...his speed is, it appears, faster than Cohn's and Yuri is fearless. GW unable to stop either of them.

*Heartened by comeback in game by both Wright and Harvey. Ben started comeback near end of first half and showed why
Coach Fisher describes him as "relentless and having an extra motor". Harvey can be a force out there...what a second half.

*Quinn appears always in the right place at the right time...scored 15 and you hardly know he's in there. Tough kid.

*Alesa made his three-point impression in limited time while Scott didn't score but did well with the ball.

Give this team some time to learn to play together and they will be very competitive. And they played without Kochera!

Omitted a few other stats that jump out:

*9 turnovers in first half, just 1 in second & ot combined

*Harvey with five second half/ot blocked shots and eight second half points while Wright had ten points

*Yuri had a quite a scorecard: 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals

Welcome to Coach Fischer era of MBB year two! Excellent adjustment during the game of starting to have Scott and Lowe bring the ball across half court more while still using Covington speed to drive to the hoop!

Wight showed why the coach has confidence in him while Harvey showed why we are singing his praises

Great comeback against a team that is in disarray but talented. Will give the kids confidence going forward

Nice to get the win, since there might not be many this season. Getting some confidence for a team that is featuring lots of players with limited college game experience could really help in other close games.

GW is struggling mightily so far this season. They aren't a good team now, but it is still a D1 win.

Ok, we are giving the Tribe coaches credit for the halftime adjustments made to get the team back in the ball game. I found it interesting that the Tribe wasn't calling time outs in the first half to try and make adjustments during GW's big run.

Nelson got away with a few fouls on his "steals" but Covington's loose handle when dribbling reminds me of Barnes, and not in a good way. He is a freshman, so I hope he tightens that up.

Two schools 150 miles apart that in a previous century played twice a season. This contest was thrown together on the fly. College athletic scheduling and "can't make it up" remain seamless.

This one made me crack open the record book. I see we haven't played Georgetown since 2007 or Navy since 2008. They should also be in the rotation.

I saw that, but I wonder if a) Bishop was open enough to make the pass or b) there was enough time on the clock for Battle to catch the ball and put it back up.
