6’6 Trazarien White of Collin College, a JUCO in TX, has committed to UNCW. A former Air Force commit, he will play his freshman year at Collin and then come over to UNCW next year with three years to play, as far as I understand.

Towson 6'10" UAB grad transfer, Makhtar Gueye, never showed up on the Towson roster. Appears his vacant slot is where room for Zane Martin came from, so, Towson back to zero slots.

Or, perhaps they told him to not bother showing up once Martin made his intentions known.

Could be. Even with Gueye disappearing, I still can't count apparently, as, they still appear in the negative on Verbal Commits, as well as, their site roster. Martin still not showing up on their site roster. Not like they had to get his picture.....

Good player from Oscar Smith.

6’6 sit one play two. I believe JMU now has filled all their empty scholarships spots: 2 incoming freshmen, 2 sit out transfers, and a grad transfer.

Stats:
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/pla...lor-1.html

Taylor just received a waiver and can play this year.

A bunch of players, a lot from the Ivy League, just showed up in the transfer portal on VC.

https://www.verbalcommits.com/transfers/2021

I recognize some names that Shaver recruited in the past (Bibbs, Schwieger, Scott, Kelly) as well as a grad transfer, Bernie Andre, that Coach Howland followed this summer.

Even if i really wanted to play hoops, i think i would stick around for the ivy league sheepskin.

RE: CAA MBB Transfers - 2020
Not sure if it's the case here, but you can't play as a graduate student in the Ivies. So if you're not playing this year and can't play as a graduate student next year, then transferring allows you to play and get the credits you need at your new institution while playing the whole time (there's typically a minimum number of institutional credits required to receive a degree from the new place).

I agree, though, that I'd still be sure I got that Ivy degree barring something decently equivalent at my new place.

Cowart, a 6’4 rising JR, averaged 13.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. He also held offers from Wichita St, Grambling St, Southeastern Louisiana, and Louisiana-Monroe according to VC.

Highlights:

Hofstra offered Cowart on 3/19 when they already had 13 scholarships filled according to my count on VC. I guess not surprising that Cowart’s commitment and Miranda’s entering the transfer portal happened on the same night since Hofstra needed room.

Cowart has entered the transfer portal. Averaged 10 minutes a game this season for Hofstra (3 games).

Bernie Andre going to FIU now.
