Fitness will be an issue with a young team. "Boys against men."

12 TO's, to 6 for ODU, have led to 21 points for the Monarchs.

Do we have a S&C coach? Last I checked, they quit.

Way too many fouls and turnovers. Can’t win win with those stats. But some guys showing some game that has me very excited for the future. Yuri, Kochera, Harvey.

Harvey’s relative value vs Wight in this one is the biggest surprise.

Kochera’s stroke is so sweet and Yuri is going to be a dynamic player for us.

Jake seems a little out of sync, and Harvey is going to have a huge impact on this team this year.

A lot to like in this game. Need to figure out defensive rotation and get through some freshman stuff, but a lot of promise.

We're shooting pretty well, I like the basic offense, we're aggressive attacking the basket. Defense looks like a work in progress. I like that we're giving the freshmen a chance to learn on the job.

Team rebounds are nearly even. I find that amazing given our size.

Kochera is a 3 pt machine tonight. He must be close to 90% and drained at least 6 by my count.

Both teams shooting over 50%. Rebounds are 26-25 favoring the Monarchs.

The good - we can score

The okay - we can't count on Kochera's 3s every game

The bad - players haven't quite grasped Dane's defense-slanted coaching

Jake Milkereit had a tough game but, I think, will be really good once he settles in.

I wish we'd played better defensively but I'm pleased with the effort. Young guys showed a lot of promise. Too many turnovers but that's expected. Bizarre preseason and tough courseload so I don't think we should expect anything more.

Harvey, Loewe, and Kochera clearly stood out.

Covington and Milkereit have some work ahead of them to get up to par.

RE: MBB vs ODU
Good effort too many TO

Kochera showed why Coach said he was the best player often on practice. He leads W&M scorers with 19 points

Harvey should have earned a start stepping up big

15 TO's leading to 29 ODU points. That is tough to overcome, even for an experienced team.

Kochera is gonna be a stud.

Yuri’s quickness and aggressiveness is something we haven’t seen in a long long time ... yes, he is out of control at times and shoots some ill advised shots at times but he can do things that are going to be incredibly hard to stop in the CAA and this was his first game. When was the last time we had a score first PG with that type of quickness.

Btw, just imagine 3-4 years of Covington and Rice in our backcourt together with guys like Kochera on the wing. Wow.

Says a lot to me about Yuri that Dane had the ball in his hands as a true freshman at PG most of the game. He is willing to live with the growing pains because he knows the raw talent and ceiling are very very high.

Harvey is going to be huge for us this year.
