Only 4 first half turnovers. That seems like it’s down 66% from last season.

Forced 14!

Having Andy back has seem to make a HUGE difference. Limited turnovers and better offensive ball movement.

TSG and Quan are setting the pace defensively. Having a legit shot-blocker in Jemison also allows us to extend the pressure.

Koby Jeffries the 2nd freshman (RS) to get in. Strong looking kid.

I'll be a little disappointed if Kirkland isn't ready to play at all. Rather not redshirt a juco.

Ard Jr. is the 10th player to see the court with 5 to play.

12 steals and 10 blocks so far.

Was he there? I thought I remembered reading we had one Covid issue.

As solid of a first game as we could hope for with all the new guys. That’s a helluva statline Benjamin put up... 21pts, 8-8 at line, 4 assists and no turnovers. Having five or more in double figures, like today, should be the norm this season.

Don't recall seeing him. He could have been the Covid sit out.

Great opening game for AK and the guys. Loved the pressure defense. That's absolutely what we should be doing with a roster heavy on lengthy guards. Was finally fun to watch basketball again at Bartow!

I really like playing Benjamin off the bench too. He can provide some instant offense, and likely won’t be dealing with the other teams stud players on either end. He got some looks today that I’m not sure he ever got close to seeing last season because we have so many threats.

He's a guy that should thrive in a faster paced offense.

Also, hopefully Lovan is ok. Don't think he came back after he took a hard fall under the basket.

I really like the uptempo and pressure defense. Maybe we will see Bartow become the Steal Mill again.

From Dudley postgame article posted in another thread:
"Lovan is expected to be available Saturday, along with Florida Southwestern State transfer Simeon Kirkland, who finishes quarantine protocol Thursday."

I am just glad to see some life back in our program again after 5 years or so. It’s been one long, sad ride since Haase’s surprise run to the tournament several years ago. The program had sunk to all time lows under Ehsan. This team, in year one, will probably be better than any of Ehsan’s team. I liked what I saw a lot. Hopefully covid will allow us to have some semblance of a normal season.

There are a lot of teams that are in pretty good shape with Covid because most of their players (and staff) have already been exposed and have antibodies at this point. I believe we are in that group of teams with a large percentage of our players w/ antibodies.

In the good old days, UAB would blow out teams like Alcorn State all the time. Had not been the case recently, until this afternoon.
