About midway thru the 2nd

Who in their wildest dreams would’ve imagined Jim Harbaugh-Michigan to be this bad?

Yeah UM didn't hire him for eight million per year (fourth most in college football) to get his butt kicked by IU and Rutgers. Not to mention OSU every year.

Let’s send this douche packing. Maybe he can coach Atlanta or Chicago next year.

NC State blocks a 36 yard FG that would have given Liberty the lead. Looks like State will win.

Georgia pulls it out 31-24. 2nd half defensive adjustments and JT Daniels win it for them.

Daniels playing 1st game for UGA after transferring from USC. Haven't checked the final stats, but I think he only threw one bad pass all day. At halftime he was 13-17 with 3 batted down and one that should have been picked. Had about 3 perfect passes dropped by his receivers in 2nd half (but mostly they did well). Think UGA only had about 13 yards rushing and most of that was the last time they had the ball.

With either of their other 2 QBs who have played, Georgia loses this game badly.

Mississippi State deserves credit, they showed up.

I did not see the NCST vs. Liberty game.

LU will likely fall out of the top 25 but I give the program full credit: The progress made in only a few seasons ... strong.

It was a close, hard-fought game throughout. Statistically about even. The game turned on three plays in the fourth quarter:

1) With Liberty up 14-7 early in the fourth, an NC State punt backed Liberty up at their own 3 yard line. Liberty tried a delayed draw and the runner was swarmed under in the end zone for a Safety, making the score 14-9. Truthfully, the runner probably got the ball out of the end zone such that it should not have been a safety, but sadly, the replay didn't have a down-the-goal-line shot for some reason which would have been conclusive, so the call stood.

As an aside, that was the first Safety NC State had scored in 10 years and 1 day, since a November 20, 2010 game vs North Carolina.

2) With about 9 minutes left and facing 3rd and long from their own 20, the Liberty QB threw an ill-advised out pattern and it was intercepted, giving State the ball at the Liberty 26. That set State up for the TD that put them up 15-14 (they missed on the 2-point try).

3) Liberty drove the ball to the State 23 yard line and with a 1:20 to go they attempted a FG that would have put them ahead 17-15, but it was blocked.

Game over.

Blocked FGs were big today - LSU beat Arkansas and NC State beat Liberty thanks to final play of the game blocked field goal attempts. And neither of these were desperation 60-yarders where the kicker has to keep the ball low to get distance, they were very makeable kicks. Special teams to the rescue.

What, no praise for Harbaugh’s triple overtime win over Rutgers? Gee, rough crowd.

RE: General Game Discussion, Week of November 21
Congratulations to....

The ACC. You were only 1 point away from being 0-3 vs. Liberty this year.

The Big 12. You've just been officially eliminated from the College Football Playoff. Right now there's a better chance the MAC will get a Playoff team.

The Big Ten, Pac 12, and SEC had the right idea on not allowing non conference play. The ACC and Big 12 now just look stupid. Sure, if Florida State could host Florida this year, it's worth it. But three ACC teams bringing in Liberty which barely moves the needle in Syracuse's, Virginia Tech's, and NC State's athletic budgets (especially with limited fan attendance) and in the case of two of the three, a LOSS? I now want to see Iowa State win the Big 12 and wonder if they would have made the Playoff if they hadn't played Louisiana. Obviously the Big Ten and Pac 12 decided late to play at all. Most SEC teams, do you really miss your FCS cupcake games this year? Is your season empty because you're only playing 10 games instead of 11 and you only got 5 home games instead of 6? So your season started a week or two late. Big deal. Virginia, are you really doing cartwheels because you beat Abilene Christian? I didn't even know there was an Abilene Christian! Most of the ACC and Big 12 non conference games were pointless, no win games for the ACC/Big 12 schools. If they won no one cared and if they lost they were the laughing stock of college football.

The players and coaches got to do what they love in a turbulent year. I’d say they all won.

Yes, and for CFB fans too.

Compared to the situation in late August, when it looked like no football would be played, this has been fantastic. We've had more than two months of FBS football, with more to come. I appreciate all the teams and conferences that have played.
