Kaleb Eleby
Eleby is currently the #1 rated QB in the country, with a QBR of 240.4 and is also #1 with 14.3 yards per attempt. Props to him for being patient and waiting for his shot. I hope he has a very long very successful career at WMU.

Yes, Reed must be having fun playing for the Spartoonies this year.
And I'll bet Eskridge is drafted before him too!

Eskridge was a beast last night in several respects. Obviously he is in his own league receiving the ball, and with blazing speed, but he had a big hit on CMU's punt returner (arguably got the guy a bit early), and was so clutch with recovering BOTH onside kicks. Both of those onside kicks were close to perfect, and Eskridge had the instinct and aggressiveness to get each of them; one high and one low. Those were so huge.
Team looked good last night. The D gave up a lot of points and yards, but they played aggressive, made enough stops, and looked decent at times. Ill take that nowadays.

I'm hoping the 10 day rest will help us get healthy on Defense. Haven't been right since the 1st quarter against Toledo. If the d-line gets healthy, things will be a lot better!

Eleby is OUTSTANDING! I do hope his amazing efforts will not be forgotten in a covid-ruined year of college football. WMU is legit! I'm not sure if ESPN realizes that yet.
This season could STILL be special despite 2020 being an awful year otherwise. GO BRONCOS!
BE SAFE EVERYONE!

I'm not all that mad about Reed. He wanted to try something else out and hopefully it works out for him. Can you imagine if he had stayed though? Him, Dee, and Skyy all lined up out there at the same time with Kaleb throwing it to them?
Glad we have 10 day rest, we need to get healthy so that we can win these games down the stretch and get back to the MACC.

I read somewhere that MSU quarterback Thorne and Reed are long time friends and went to the same high school and Reed wanted to play with his buddy.

B33, I agree about Reed. But it does make you wonder if WMU were to win the MACC this year if he wouldn't have a little regret leaving here for the dumpster fire that is MSU this year.
But we've got plenty of weapons. Still waiting for Sky to really take off this year. Same with Bussell, who had an abysmal night fielding punts.

Yeah, that kid was coming to WMU at one point. He probably made the right choice, as we have our QB.

When MSU finally benched Lombardi for Thorne last weekend the connection with Reed was apparent. A number of Thorne's check downs were throws to Reed... he definitely has some trust there.

RE: Kaleb Eleby
Thorne-Lester relationship goes way back.
Worked with Gramps via FCA when Dad was a HS So QB on varsity. Gramps later coached Lester or had moved onto North Central College (size of MIAA) but Gramps protege Ron Multhich(?) who took over at Wheaton Warrenville (formerly Wheaton Central (Red Grange) may have been TL's Hs coach stayed close to Grampa Thorne. Lester connection was natural.
I don't think TL was butt hurt when grandson moved on. He knew it was a steal and based on personal connection. Without it the relationship I don't think WMU would have necessarily been considered.

How long do we have Eleby assuming doesn’t leave for graduation or to go pro, etc? Isn’t it another 3 seasons after this?

Yeah, but will he want to do grad school, if he gets pro interest? I could foresee him giving up senior year eligibility, assuming he’s healthy and proven himself over four full seasons of games in his career. However, there’s always a case for the non P5 players to burnish credentials a little more.
