(8-0) #21 LIBERTY @ (5-3) N.C. State

Biggest test of the season this coming week. N.C. State will be the toughest team we’ve faced this season. I expect a good amount of points to be scored.

31 Liberty
38 N.C. State

Does the South Carolina job opening become a distraction to the team? You know they are hearing/reading that Freeze is the prime candidate.

RE: (8-0) #21 LIBERTY @ (5-3) N.C. State
This game becomes a matter of whose Defense is stronger in the bend-don't-break category.

Based upon the success of Miami's D'Eriq King against NC State, don't be surprised if Malik Willis pulls another rabbit out of his hat with this one, & as long as our Passing D holds strong, we may be able to not only win, but win fairly impressively.

The biggest concern in my book would be turnovers. The only reason we were down against VT going into half was the two inopportune fumbles by Willis. If he & the rest of the Offense can hold onto the ball, we should be on great footing, but if not, this will be another nailbiter, or a loss.

In the end, as long as everyone's head is on straight, I think we win this one convincingly, though not nearly as much as against Syracuse.

(21) Liberty - 45
NC State - 35

It could play a factor, but I think Coach has done his best to convince them that U of SC is not even an option in his mind.

Diving into what they’ve done against opposing QBs I expect us to live or die by Malik. If he plays well we will win. He is going to need to do another 300+ passing 100+ rushing. I think we lose a tight one.

South Carolina is going to cough up $15 million to buy out Freeze's brand new contract with Liberty plus $20-25 million to pay him?

On Freeze's side, moving from Liberty to South Carolina seems like a sideways move. Liberty has deep pockets and willingness to spend on facilities. Kiffin moved from FAU to Ole Miss because his pay went from 1m to 4m. Freeze is already getting 3m a year from liberty.

I would think Freeze would stay at Liberty for another year or so then maybe take a bigger job. 3 seasons of success at Liberty means $$$$$

I have a hard time believing Freeze is looking to leave for a while. P5’s are cut throat and could be a career ending promotion. It’s not like he’s coaching at a SBC school and getting pennies on the dollar for his craft. 3 mil a year plus more probably if he keeps crushing it. That’s a pretty good deal for him. And if he moves now or a year or two from now he has to explain again and again his wrong doings at Ole Miss. Lots of folks still won’t forgive him. But LU is fairly low stress since I think all we want is to make bowls at a minimum.

I'm beginning to think that the Liberty vs NC State game will be upgraded from ESPN3 to ESPNU or ESPN2. The following 10 games have already now been cxld which could allow this matchup to be upgraded (like last week) for TV viewership.

I thought the game was happening on a regional sports network this week? If I'm wrong on that, I'd love to see us on ESPN2!

Oops....you're right, it's on CHSS and also streamed on ESPN3. I live on the west coast so it's ESPN3 for me if I choose to watch the game.

Okay....now there are like 12 upcoming Saturday games cxld (and three others on Tues, Wed and Friday) for a total of 15. I'm just speechless at how bad this is. Anyway, on Saturday during Liberty's time slot (4PM PCT) I don't see CBS, FS1, ESPN2 or even ESPU having any games now due to the cxl/postponed games that would be in this time slot. I'm guessing that it's a very good to guaranteed chance that Liberty vs NC State will be nationally televised. Pretty Cool...I mean in lieu of the unfortunatel COVID-19 situations affecting the other games.

msm96wolf, this is what we have been waiting for!

I think Liberty can win and we have a great shot at it. I feel like a broken record but I think this is the game our special teams costs us the game. But we are rolling on offense and think we can outscore NC State.

Regarding the TV slot, it must have to do with the contracts of the ACC and the regional networks that bought rights to the game. It's on Espn3, but folks are projecting it will be blacked out in VA. We had the exact same problem with Syracuse. From what I'm seeing, neither espn2 or espnu have any games slotted for 730. Ironically, we've had much better national coverage when Liberty or the CUSA owned rights to the game over our P5 opponents.

Because they want to keep the exposure as little as possible in case we beat them!03-lmfao Which has been the case... always... this year.

The TV contract situation is actually true....however, now that there are 13 games cxld on Saturday, I'm pretty certain that this game gets picked up nationally. I'm happy nevertheless that I have it on ESPN3 no matter what

I'm curious to see how hungry and motivated the LU team is for another P5 game.

Read that NCST uses a 3-3-5 D. Hoping LU can pound the run game against that D formation.

Isn't the 3-3-5 what Syracuse used?
