One of the most selfish groups of people in the entire world is right here in the United States. And also... public criticism of bigotry towards same-sex marriage isn't censorship. It's just criticism. White males want to be discriminated against so badly. It's the weirdest fetish out there right now.
Selfishness? You say that like it is a bad thing.
How about YOU decide what YOU want and how YOU want to get it (legally), and I will decide what I want and how I will get it? I wont ask you to give or do anything for me against my will or desire, and you don't ask or compel me to give or do anything for you against your will or desire? That's fairness and equity. And if those rules are applied to everyone, regardless of sex, race, religion, etc., it works. I'll worry about mySELF, and you worry about yourSELF.
On the other hand, when you insist that the government force me to do things, against my will, or take things from me to do what YOU or someone else who I may disagree with wishes to be done, THAT is not only SELFISH, indeed it is grossly immoral, and arguably should be criminal.
Liberty is the most valuable thing every American possesses, and should be the first and last thing we all should fight to protect and preserve. Unfortunately, over years of ignorance manifest by many, if not most, of our largest institutions, like the media, education systems, and political institutions, intellectually lazy Americans have acquiesced to an indoctrination which has compromised the most sacred American values, including liberty, and have taken our freedom for granted to such an extent that they cant see that they are urinating away what means most in terms of both short and long term quality of life; not to mention economic prosperity. How sad.
As for masks; if you wish to wear one, wear one. If you feel that others not wearing one in places where you appear places you at a level of risk you don't want to experience, don't go to those places. That is YOUR choice. If someone has bad body odor in a public area, or for that matter is sneezing and could have some non-covid-19 contagion which could, if you have a compromised immune system, cause you serious health problems if you caught it, you may decide to leave the area. That's a choice you have. If you or some government official gets to decide what liberties will be denied based on YOUR personal perceived "dangers", that opens the door extremely wide for anyone else's perceptions of "danger", or even "inconveniences", based solely on who happens to be carrying the big stick at the time. And trust me brother, you will understand that concept more clearly when the shoe is on the other foot, and one day it will be.
Self-righteousness if far worse than selfishness.
