Exclamation San Diego St v Nevada is on CBS Saturday
San Diego St @ Nevada is on CBS. OTA
Did SEC lose it’s exclusive powers?
When has a non SEC non service Academy game been on CBS last?

RE: San Diego St v Nevada is on CBS Saturday
They had initially chosen Mississippi/Texas A&M but it got cancelled. So they moved the MWC game into the slot.

When has a non SEC non service Academy game been on CBA last?

It's a replacement for the canceled Ole Miss vs Texas AM game.

The only SEC game at that time is Kentucky vs Alabama, and the SEC Network already has that. CBS doesn't get to take an ESPN game if its game is canceled.

But the SEC has an exclusive clause in its contract. No other conference games are allowed on there. Only Army, Navy, Air Force.

The SEC game was canceled, and since there was no available SEC game at that time, CBS was entitled to show another game in its place.

Just a lucky confluence for the MW, SDSU and Nevada. CBS did not air any game last week when LSU vs Alabama was canceled, so they didn't want to go two weeks in a row with nothing in that slot.

Hopefully this is a sign CBS wants to stay in CFB and replace the SEC in 3 years. PAC12 would love a 12:30 CBS game of the week, I’m sure.

MWC has had the conference title game on CBS. Also the MWC conf. tournament championship. They have a contract w the CBS sports channel too. SEC network is espn owned, right. So maybe ESPN won't give up their games?

That's it. ESPN has zero incentive to allow CBS to take one of its SEC games.

CBS agreed to let them have an SECN game at the same time.

Cancellations due to COVID-19 earlier this season also lead to CBS airing a non-SEC game: App State @ Marshall. I believe that game was originally slated for CBSSN but moved to CBS OTA after the cancellations. I’m guessing it’s probably a similar situation here.

New contract with CBS will allow some MW games in the OTA channel. In addition, CBS isn’t renewing the SEC games.

Not until 2024.

Not a MWC fan at all, but both teams are 4-0 and 3-1. Not the game that CBS wanted, but maybe a competitive one. And did not include BSU.

Boise plays at Hawaii today so that time schedule wouldn’t work. Also, no OTA station is going to show a blue field.

With Clemson-FSU postponed, guess which game moved to ABC? Florida-Vanderbilt! A harbinger of things to come.

I am not convinced when people invoke CBS's expiring contract with the SEC - which won't actually expire for 3 long years and which both parties could change their minds about at any time - and other such network politics for these moves.

The truth is, Disney owned the Vandy - Florida game, it was set to air on ESPN2. So moving it to ABC was no problem at all.

Been a pretty good game. Was shocked that Brad and Gary are calling it. One of the very few games I’ve watched in recent years not involving UAB or Tennessee, but it’s been a good one.

And better still, the App State-Coastal game wound up on ESPN.
