RE: Watching ND Kids Storm The Field...
I think it's more the Ministry of Health was happy to run amok during their power trip, as long as no one was checking them. (Hello Strickland and Harris?) Once law suits were filed, and state reps were introducing bills to take away their power, they started caving to reasonableness.
Not sure who I'm more disgusted with - the SCHD, the local mayors, or the yapping heads who told us they were just "following the science".

The Nashville fiasco, where they got caught lying about the actual data, helped expedite the Nazis giving up a bit of power.

Seeing all of the protests and rallies happen is going to change that in many states. I don't know if ticket printing software can do it, but if there is a way to leave 3 seats between clumps of tickets, then it's doable to have 6,000 at our games safely.

Indoors is a totally different animal. No way they allow 6,000 right now with COVID running rampant.

Maybe 500 - 2,000

lol
When football started, there were 1,700 active cases of COVID in Shelby Co with a local positivity rate of 7%. And the Ministry of Health allowed 6,500 fans into LBMS - a vast and OUTDOOR stadium. Fans had to space 12 feet.
Now, there are 3,500 active cases in Shelby Co with a positivity rate of 11%. And they are allowing 3,200 fans into an indoor arena that is one-third the size of LBMS. Fans have to space 6 feet.
And that group just "follows the science", so we're told.
Happy for fans.
But what a joke the SCHD is.

Can you please define your terms? I was wondering about this last night as I listened to some Covid broadcast. They said there have been ~"230,000 covid deaths" (which I highly doubt, but assuming they are correct) in the US, and ~ "11,000,000 positive cases". I did a little quick math and determined that the general public is unnecessarily paranoid. That means that, JUST POSITIVE CASES ALONE - we are not even talking deaths.... that is less than 3% of the population of the US, and the vast majority of those individuals (>97%) recover.

Using your "terms", I take them to mean that 1 million people x .11 = 110,000 cases in Shelby county? Is that what you are saying?

Positivity rate is a metric that is used to report how many people that were tested got positive results. By itself it is a meaningless number...

If 10,000 people get tested and 5,000 are positive, that is a 50% positivity rate
If 10 people get tested and 5 are positive, that is a 50% positivity rate
If I can convince 100 health people to get tested with the 10 people, then there are 5 positive results out of 110 people... so a 4.5% positivity rate.

I think it is generally used as a metric of how bad things are because there are always people with no symptoms that test positive. It's hard to trust, because why would I go test if I have no symptoms and no reason to think I might be infected?

Personally ... I don't need statistics to ... Prove somethings. Just watch the game. Bad football is bad football. Bad basketball is ....
Covid 19 is the same. When healthy people get sick, can't breathe and die ...
And people keep saying ... Oh the statistics say it's not so bad ...
Watch the damn game folks ... Jesus !!!

It's not "my terms" but terms that have been used throughout the pandemic and have been widely understood.
As the other poster said, positivity rate is the % of positive tests out of the total # of tests. I use the 14-day average as the best current indicator.
I agree that it's not very meaningful by itself. That's why I use it with other metrics, to give the full picture. When you look at total number of active cases and the current positivity rate, you get a feel for community spread.
The best metrics are actually taking these numbers and applying them to population size, to get per capita. But I've found many people have a hard time with these, lol.
Regardless of metric, the current state of the pandemic is at least 2x worse now than what it was when football season started. Yet, the SCHD has gone from 12-ft distancing outside, to 6-ft distancing inside. That is the point I'm making.

Looks like the dumba$$es at SCHD are going back to takeout only at restaurants, bars closed and head Nazi Alisha Hushholler might be wanting to push farther enacting restrictions on holiday gatherings. Good luck enforcing it. 03-lmfao

ONE side, encourages 20,000 people to hold protests and rallies wherever they want, for whatever reason as long as it benefits their side. 2 people cannot eat at a restaurant that has tables 10FT apart, with plexiglass partitions, wiped down and disinfected after every sitting, served by staff wearing masks. They are accused of being serial killers, and putting everyone's health at risk.

The same side is outraged if someone questions a Lou Ferigno look alike that just had surgery with a tiny backhoe being allowed to compete in womens' weightlifting.

So there's that.
