RE: UCF Game
Interesting Vegas has us as a 3.5 point favorite but if I remember correctly, ESPN's FPI only gives us a 40% chance to win. Something's gotta give.

RE: UCF Game
I look for UCF to play their best game of the season.

They hang with us for a half. In the end our brutality overtakes their finesse.

Would love to smash them by 3 possessions and make a serious statement.

Lol. Wut? It’s the biggest game of the season. Pretty sure CLF and the Cats know that.

UC just has to play their game. Intensity, minimum penalties and have great success in all parts of their game. This could be a special year.

Minimize mistakes on offense, control the tempo, and just let em try to beat our D.

RE: UCF Game
My biggest concern is that without Ponder we will be a little less effective rushing the QB and significantly less effective stopping the run. Still a very capable defense but we took a noticeable step down once Ponder went out Friday night.

On offense we need Ridder to just keep playing as he has been. Making plays with his feet and enough plays through the air to sustain drives and make them respect the pass. We should be able to score on UCF’s defense as long as we play semi-clean and take advantage of the opportunities when they arise.

Bolded; a fair concern for sure facing the most talented team we'll see in the AAC. I think it's fair to say there was some slippage in UC's play against an overmatched opponent as evidenced by ECU running the ball a little better on occasion than other opponents. And certainly, more penalties. Intensity must be hard to sustain week after week, especially when UC was almost a four touchdown favorite.

Intensity won't be lacking on either side of the line of scrimmage for either team Saturday. Winning in Orlando is another potential first in Fickell's career and won't come easy. We all know it's a must win game if UC is to realize its full potential this year.

On the other hand, I don't believe a close loss would derail a conference championship run or NY6 bid in and of itself. But let's hope we don't have to find out. How embarrassing would it be to lose to a UCF team that is probably better than 2/3 of the B10 teams this year and drop behind a Marshall or Coastal Carolina in the race to the NY6? Life in the G5 requires a constant high wire act by the frontrunner.

It's my belief that a one loss AAC team trumps an undefeated G5 'newcomer' (everyone except Boise or App State). Still would mean a loss this weekend forces us to run the table the rest of the way.

Also likely that no matter what, the conference championship is must win. I don't believe a 10-1 Bearcats team gets a NY6 spot as an "at-large" which is a shame and due strictly to conference perception. The A5 won't say it but the AAC is just as good (if not better than) the Pac12. A one loss Pac12 team who's only loss is the Pac12 Championship still gets a NY6 spot, if not still in the playoff discussion.

+1, don't give them points and opportunities off turnovers we win.

RE: UCF Game
To win this week UC needs to play with emotion but not emotional. Remember, Together Everyone Achieves More. We don't need to row the boat, pull the rope or chop the wood. We definitely don't need to go to hell and get a job, or hang out at the table on while I take this call.

Yea, I like to think a loss would still have us in position for the NY6 bowl game ahead of the other G5 Teams. Let’s hope we don’t have to worry about that and can come out with a win.
