I think Marcus Freeman will end up becoming the HC at Cincinnati if/when Fickell ends up taking a job at OSU or ND.

I’m not sure how long Freeman is willing to wait, but one thing that people tend to forget is he is only 34 so he has plenty of time to be patient. He could remain a DC for another 5 years and still be considered extremely young to become a Head Coach.

Now I’m not saying that happens, but I just wanted to point out how young he is and how he can be patient.

Freeman won't last as DC at Cincy but I could definitely see him getting a MAC head coaching job after this season. So Cincy would represent a good stepping stone up if/when Fickell leaves. It's not like he's going to hop up to a P5 level HC offer after this season.

He is making more as the DC at Cincinnati than but one MAC coach. He is going to have much better opportunities than the MAC this off season. I hope he says but I can see some ACC and B10 schools taking a swipe for him.

Yea, that’s kind of the dilemma. He is at a point where he is making as much as our DC as he would for almost every MAC school and based on the current economic situation I don’t think MAC schools are going to be lining up to break the bank for a new Football coach.

He’s sort of in a strange position and since his goal is to become a HC it will be interesting how he ends up moving forward to prepare himself for that goal. That’s one reason I pointed out his age where he can be patient as he doesn’t have to rush into anything immediately.

Pffftt. Look at those sticks for arms. Pathetic.

Anyways...

SMU has landed a TE transfer from Arizona State who had 34 offers coming out of HS, including us. One of six P5 true FR TE's to play over 200 snaps last year:

https://twitter.com/_Boog1e_/status/1330...-105959%2F

That, and one of the top WR's in Texas has decommited from Baylor and is now expected to join us:

https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Roderi...Interests/

He's got offers from Miami, Georgia Tech, Utah, Mizzou, and others. Super excited.

Anyways, good luck with Twig boy there.

That's 7/11 right now. We all know Navy will suffer in the rankings because of their primary mission, so really that is 7/10 that we could expect. How does that compare to the A5?

Less than 10 P5 teams are below 84.00/recruit, but just a few G4 teams are above that threshold.

Only I see below 84 right now are WF & WSU although several are just barley above like Illinois, Colorado, Vandy, etc.

These both are along the lines of what I am looking for. If it's one or two teams in each A5 conference below the line than the AAC would be comparative, although may be without the top end of the OSU, OU, USC, Alabama's for comparison. Seems pretty clear we have put distance between us and the G4 so the question is how do we stack to the top conferences. Is this a tweener or like the Massey Composite last year is this something where we are on the same playing field as the A5.

The P12 and B12 are A5 and I think the American would at least be on par with those 2 this year. The ACC is better than normal considering they have Notre Dame for this year.

UC brings home a huge DL transfer.

Former national top 75 Jowon Briggs declares his transfer to UC today from Virginia. Would have 3 years of eligibility but he won’t be here that long. Was the #2 player in Ohio and national #7 DT in 2019 with a composite of .9667.
