Toungue Taylor Heinicke
Can someone explain to me why he isn't in the nfl.he is far better than some of the guys there now or as good.

Mod edit; updated the thread title to fix the spelling of Taylor’s last name.

RE: Taylor heineke
If he was far better, he would be in the NFL right now.

But, the bigger concerns were that anytime he got a chance, he got injured.

Too small, too injury prone. Skill wise, yes - I think he could have made a career of it, at least as a backup. But, his frame just isn't what it needs to be.

Because he got injured about once every 10 plays when he got his chance.

RE: Taylor Heinicke
No reason that Dallas shouldn't be calling him. With those receivers, just 10 plays before an injury would help them out. And a couple of others as well.

As others have said, he just couldn't stay healthy. He got injured everytime he got tackled. I think he is talented enough, he just can't do it physically.

I think the beating he took in his one start for Panthers against the Falcons sealed his fate. Ironically, the just named starter for the Cowboys, Gilbert, is one of the QBs he beat out for backup to Cam Newton in 2018.

Between covid and injuries, it's not out of the realm of possibility that he could wind up playing or at least on a team before the season is over.

Wont happen. He doesn’t have the frame. Too frail.

Yep. And I recall the interview presser when Coach Ron Rivera said that he likes Allen and Heinicke. Though I live TH and the REDSKINS, I think TH would get hurt with such a terrible O Line.

Taylor couln't even get a starting job in the XFL. I love the guy and want to see him on the field any and every chance he can get but I think that is telling.

But his history with injuries could hurt his chances. If he gets signed by the WFT I'm buying his jersey ASAP haha.

I do hope he finds his way back on campus one day, as a coach or in the athletic department. The fans and school would welcome him back with open arms

RE: Taylor Heinicke
For every Travis Fulham there is a Taylor Heinicke. I don’t mean that as a slight. He was the first ODU player I though had a real shot to make it in the bigs. Maybe he still can, but he missed opportunities and didn’t take advantage of others. Breaking his foot while trying to kick down a door was one of them. Fulgham’s first real opportunity resulted in a game winning TD and look where he is at now. I wish it would go that way for all the people I love but that’s just not how it works.

This has nothing to do with nothing, but I found a Heinicke for Heisman shirt at a CHKD Thrift store for 5 bucks. In perfect condition and I wear it to the gym all the time. It is gray with blue letters and it is one of my favorite shirts. Oh, on the back it says support ODU Athletics. I could not believe someone would let that go.

Those shirts were originally sold at mojo bones on campus. And it’s quite possible that’s my old shirt if you found it recently, since I take all my stuff to CHKD.

Likely someone else. I donate at the one on Monticello.
