That's not just me being a homer. It would be as dope if it was NMSU, Dixie State, or any other basketball program in the nation.

I can only hope the Tarleton social media team will see and learn from this.

Compared to a 50% or so of the WAC TSU is light years ahead of some already.

Yes, that's pretty good.

Technical question: animation, or real video processed to look like animation?

I could be wrong, but I thought they may have built everything custom in NBA2K20 and did some kind of screencast recording to get all the clips needed. Once you have the clips you need, maybe include some graphic overlays in post-production. I can't imagine the number of hours and storage it took to do all that, but it's my best guess.

Our Las Cruces Sun News beat writer (he’s new, young, energetic and provides a ton of content) made the entire NMSU team, court, uni’s etc. in NBA 2K this summer. It can be done but takes an enormous amount of work. When I saw this, I thought of him and what he had done.

After looking the GCU basketball schedule again, I just realized NMSU and GCU are now travel partners within this current WAC group. It also appears CBU and Seattle U are now travel partners, Utah Valley and Dixie State are travel partners, Tarleton State and UT Rio Grande Valley are travel partners and Chicago State is the traveling alone.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I figured there would be some partner changes with the new WAC additions but never bothered to look it up.

I forget where we had talked about OOC PAC-12 games it appeared the WAC was going to lose, but we may be back in business (incl. ASU @ GCU on 12/13)!

That should be a fun game.
Does ASU play at GCU often?

Since there aren't many (any?) Dixie State fans on here yet, I'l try to keep tabs on them a little. Here is their schedule and some press about them. The KSL article is a nice piece.

Gonzaga is definitely the highlight of their non con. Also have Southern Utah, Weber State at home, at Denver and at Utah State.

My favorite quote from Dixie coach. "I guess I've been coaching too long if I can go from a junior college to a Division II to a Division I all at the same school.

This would be the first non-exhibition matchup between GCU and ASU in the D1 era. Lopes actually wiped the entire OOC schedule from the website when WAC games were announced, so fans have no idea what is actually going on now. Close regional games with the state universities would make a lot of sense in the current environment, but there is no official word from the University.

Yes many thought this day would never come. ASU swore to the stars they would never play GCU, but here we are.

I'm pretty sure a H/H with ASU was on the books pre-COVID, but yeah. Coach Drew did confirm during his WAC media day interview that the ASU game is officially back on (for now, anyway).

Oh, yeah. I'm very familiar with Dr. Crow's previous position on playing GCU in athletics contests and how furious he was that GCU was even given an exhibition game to open the arena in 2011. I'm pretty sure that was the genesis of the original Crow-imposed "ban" on playing GCU.

Anyway, speaking as an ASU grad and someone who grew up in an ASU family, I really don't see an issue with playing GCU. However, also being a Lopes athletics fan, I am admittedly biased.

I grew up in the neighborhood previously right behind then Grand Canyon College, though WHERE I grew up is now almost in the dead-center of campus. I have friends who attended and were student athletes at the College. More recently, I have completed various graduate studies at GCU. As far as athletics goes, I gave up on ASU basketball after the Stevin Smith and Mario Bennett days. With the exception of when Eddie House was part of the program (my undergrad days), it never really felt like ASU was committed to success in basketball. That was fine for me, as I grew up loving (and still do) ASU football way more anyway.

I attended my first GCU basketball game back in 2011 and was immediately hooked. With no strong allegiance to ASU hoops and GCU not having a football team to compete for my fandom there, it was real easy to embrace the program as it grew. Along the way, our family checked out some of the other teams on campus (because having free things to do when you're a parent is VITAL) and now probably enjoy cheering several other GCU teams as much (if not more) than we do MBB.

So, anyway. That's it. Sorry you asked! HAHA!

Well that's interesting. So, do you tell people GCU destroyed your childhood home?

Haha. It's not a conversation I can say I've had, but the community is honestly probably better for those old apartments being gone.

I was talking more about this: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.azcentr...p/97949082

Still a touchy subject for some ASU grads.

So how'd you become a fan of a school you didn't attend?

HAHA!

I lived in Phoenix for a few years. Our corporate office was on 32nd st and Camelback rd. When I first got out there, I wanted to check out the office. I went to 32nd AVENUE and Camelback rd. I was shocked wondering why our office would be there. Rough part of town but right where GCU is today.
