The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics will hold its first virtual sellout of the fall for the Bearcats football game against ECU on Friday, Nov. 13 inside Nippert Stadium.

For $10, Bearcats fans can support their team from home, receive a commemorative 2020 football print and have a chance to win some great prizes.

UC will also celebrate its senior class and Military Appreciation Night in Nippert on Nov. 13. The game is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and 700 WLW AM.

Fans can purchase their virtual seat online below!

All ticket buyers will receive one 2020 commemorative football print. These are limited to one print per ticket. The design of the print will be released following the close of the 2020 season.

Additional prizes will be available to win for various seat blocks purchased. Plus, a commemorative print will be mailed out for each virtual ticket purchased.

All proceeds benefit the University of Cincinnati student-athletes and help mitigate the forecasted budget deficit as a result of COVID-19.

We made a purchase. Guess it is something. Wish the AD thought about doing this earlier in the season. Wish they came up with some other creative ways of generating revenue and excitement.

By the way, the posters this year were the best I have seen in years. So, there is that.

Yeah, I think this is a win for UC. I'll definitely grab a couple "tickets".

At first I thought they were selling access to a virtual stream from the sideline or something - but that's apparently not the case. Either way, I hope they generate some revenue from this.

Some people on this board constantly gripe about the A.D.'s marketing efforts. I'm sure those folks will appreciate that the A.D. is trying to do something.

It's gotta be tough for them - they're working mostly from home just like the rest of us. It's a lot harder to get new initiatives started remotely.

I made my annual UCATS donation the other day and asked why they weren't doing cardboard cutouts. The guy said that they considered it, but were unable to do it because Nippert's seats are benches. Also something about it being outside (maybe he meant that the type that can sit on benches will only work inside?). He said they were hoping to sell carboard cutouts for basketball games.

They can't figure out how to strap cardboard to a bench? I like that we're being creative with a virtual event but they could do so much more. Hell, have a couple DAAP students draw some things up like they did in the Basketball Arena for Senior Night last year. Put some famous alumni in the stands like the Kelces, Bearcatlett, Gary Clark, etc.

Yep. Alternatively they could have sold advertisement banners— “Hey Skyline, we’ll put up a big banner in the Bearcat Lair. It will cost you $X.”

Count me as one of those who have been taking shots at the school for lack of revenue generation. This something that should have been done a couple times already this year.

Come on man we have a great engine school and they cannot figure out a cheap attachment bracket?

I guess virtual Club Seats are also $10?

The number of "tickets" you purchase determines which level and what giveaways you get. There is a segment for Club that you'll gain access to if you purchase at least 50 tickets.

The school where I work has a less reputable engineering school and we were able to do it just fine. We are also doing a prize drawing for anyone's cutout that is hit by a football during a game.

Sometimes I scratch my head at the AD. They complain about revenue and constantly blow me up for donations. Great ideas fall in their lap and the time they take to vet / implement is as if they are curing cancer. I am more frustrated that I have offered suggestions and my time to Cunningham and crickets.

I don’t scratch my head...he’s a compliance wonk who was hired to be a bean counter not a rain maker. The Bearcats will succeed despite this guy not because of him.

UC needed a marketing type but The Bean hired a compliance guy. The UC Marketing effort has been horrible for most of my 50 years of following. I have suggested they engage the UC BusAd Marketing folks.
