We gotta out score 'em. Ridder kind of forgot he was a running QB against us last year ... I think he remembered yesterday !!! We SUCK against a dual threat QB !!!

Ridder was coming off an injury last year. He had missed several games right before our first game against them last year.

Ridder didn't even play in the first game against us. In the second game he did play and ran for 113 yards and a td.

I thought he played some but I have a poor memory.

I watched the entire game. It was MUCH closer for 95% of the game than the score shows. SMU blew several chances to tie and I believed they had the momentum in the 4th they could have won the game. They missed so many easy, big time catches that it looked like they were trying to throw the game.

Did you see the facemask on Buechelle where they picked up the flag? Turned his head 180 degrees. But yes they had their chances but Cincy has a tough, physical defense.

There were some egregious missed and blown calls across the board yesterday. The refs are stinking it up all over the place this year.

AP couldn't wait to move Boise State into the top 25. They went from no votes to #25.

Power 5 Poll bias.
How in the world is Oklahoma ranked with 2 losses, when we drop completely out of the poll with a 3pt loss to a ranked SMU?
How is Penn State ranked after losing to Indiana?
How is Iowa State ranked with 2 losses?

BS!

North Carolina hasn't beaten anyone, and has a loss to a horrible Florida State team, and are ranked #15 and #13. We lose to a ranked team in the last minute after a month off and are still unranked.

Buechele had a bad game vs Cincy. Lots of incomplete passes. He was 23-44 with an interception. Cincy is tough but I think Brady plays better against them.

His WR/TEs dropped quite a few. I’m hoping we get TE Dykes more involved. He was non existent vs Temple (1 catch); 23 on the year.

RE: Cincinnati just beat SMU 42-13 in Dallas
It was to our advantage for SMU to lose to Cincinnati. Now SMU has 1 conference loss.
Cincinnati, Tulsa, Navy & Houston are the remaining unbeatens in the AAC. We play all but Tulsa, so we don't 100% control our own destiny for the regular season league title yet.

As for the access bowl slot.... We've got Cincinnati (#9), Marshall (#19), Coastal Carolina (#20), SMU (#22) & Boise (#25) ahead of us in this week's AP poll. Army (#25) is ahead of us in the Coach's poll.

Boise has a home game left with BYU and the MWC championship game. Coastal Carolina has a home game with Appalachian State. CC & App St. are both in the SB East, so no rematch in the SB championship game. If both Boise & CC win those games, and win out, we are going to need some help from the CFB poll voters to overtake them.
Fortunately, we have a much tougher remaining schedule, with #9 Cincinnati, #28 Tulane, Tulsa (#40 CP), Houston (#51 CP), and the AAC championship game (assuming we make it). But... we have some ground to make up, and we have to win out as well.

Army already accepted a bid to the Independence Bowl. I don't believe they are eligible for the G5 slot to the Peach Bowl this season.

SMU is certainly not the same without Roberson. They may lose a couple more before all is done.

Have y’all noticed other schools having starters “opting out”?
Or is it just a Memphis thing?

Other schools are dealing with it. We might be one of the hardest hit though, with Gainwell and Coxie.

LSU has had maybe 4 starters opt out.

Funny, Coxie didn't mention "COVID opt-out" in his statement. He basically just said he's quitting. He also thanked Norvell but didn't mention Silverfield, which indicates there might be more to the story.

Here's another list sorted by school. This is the one I've used before.

Quote:All players are listed in alphabetical order of school, with returning starters denoted by asterisks and players who have declared for the NFL draft denoted by pound signs.

I'm not guaranteeing anything, but Cincy isn't as good as we are making them out to be. We've had a tougher schedule and our numbers are better. I prognosticate a 45-31 Memphis win.
