Why can't you name names? You are just a random guy on a discussion board.

4. Don't expect a hire until mid to late December. Even if we do come up with the money, a lot of potential coaches aren't interested in signing a deal until things shake out at Auburn and other potential jobs. No one wants to be locked in with us and a better job come available. We're most likely going to wait until the rest of the major jobs shake out to see who our top guys are that are left.

Wouldn't this timeline wreck this recruiting cycle?

Because naming names can potentially ruin relationships and result in coaches pulling out. I’d prefer to not speak publicly about certain people and just give a general statement.

And probably, but that’s the reality of this year.

Exactly. Also, if you are given privileged information and your source learns you let the cat out of the bag to the world, you wont be given that information again. Plus, its classless and makes you look like a schmuck if divulge info you werent suppose to. Pretty simple. Most people learn this early on in life.

USM - where mistakes are defined, refined, assigned and combined.

I'm hearing the #2 candidate is a guy who is defense... That would go totally against the offense search mindset that was mentioned earlier.... Although this guy does have ties to AD, and was considered a favorite at Troy a few years ago also.

Going all out for this one! If it's not a proven coach this time we deserve to be bottom dwellers. If I don't see monkin, fedora, briles, or freeze on the list of candidates I will have conformation that we don't care about the future of football at southern miss. As a eagle club member who doesn't even live in Hattiesburg. I give a generous amount each year. F this hire up and I am gone.
