SMU emerges as "The Team to Beat in the AAC"
Can't argue with 5-0 two seasons in a row, including wins over ranked teams.

I'm getting worried about being able to keep Sonny Dykes.

I wouldn't set yourself up for that. SMU was a way better team last year. This year's team hasn't played a difficult schedule and should have lost to a Memphis team that took a month off. SMU is a good team, but it will take some luck to contend for the NY6 bowl especially without your RB1 and WR1.

I would argue that we are better and deeper this year. We couldn't have replaced Reggie Roberson with someone faster last year. And we have an awesome offensive line. And we have a great kicker this year who is responsible for our last two wins.

SMU is not the most talented, but has the best combination of talent, coaching, and experience at the key positions like QB and Oline. Their keeker is legit he banged a 56 yarder off the upright before hitting the game winner in OT. Buchele is better than any other QB in the conference except maybe White. Tune and Ridder are both nothing to get excited about in the passing game. Gabriel is streaky and a world beater for a few possessions and then just off for a few possessions.

We haven't won anything to make us the team to beat in anything. Let's win a conference championship at least before we start beating our chest.

A three point squeaker over Tulane in overtime has other teams trembling, that is for sure.

Perhaps get a defense and then start to shoot your mouth off.

We tried, but we just couldn't lose to them.

Not saying we SHOULD be ranked. and admittedly we're the worst case for an AAC champ getting the NY6 Bowl given those OOC performances.

However, the Team to Beat in the AAC is the one on top of the table.

I am thrilled that we are undefeated, but we can't keep losing players to injury. Rice went down and Gray doesn't look 100%. Eventually that is going to be a problem.

Are the Rice and Gray injuries serious season ending injuries? I missed that. We may have another open date this week if Cincinnati can't go.

Tulsa and SMU are the only ones out of all those teams to beat someone considered in the top half of the conference though.

I’m wondering how any team can drop in the standings after winning their game? We’ll meet Navy head to head in a couple of weeks.
