Tulsa has lost a few bigs to health issues over the years. In their case they were career ending conditions, I hope Smith’s isn’t as serious and he can come back.
WSU's and Memphis early season tourney bracket is out. Absolutely loaded field that could define the AAC's tournament's hopes in the first weekend of the season.

Was Dayton the one that replaced Duke? Or am I getting tournaments confused?

Yes Dayton replaced Duke, who decided they don't want to leave home this year.

The American Airlines Center will be hosting the 2024 NCAA Tournament in men's basketball, the NCAA announced. It will be a regional section, meaning it will be two Sweet 16 games and an Elite 8 game.

A lot of AAC representation in hosting NCAA games
I know WSU has the First 2 rounds in 2021 and 2025. I saw Memphis and Houston (i think the second weekend) on that list too

Xavier @ home on December 6th
Furman @ home on December 9th
The Xavier fiasco is disappointing. They had the good fortune of hosting last season - UC put in a tough position where homecourt advantage (and the associated revenue boost) is lost. UC will go 3 years without hosting a Xavier game sellout. Travis Steele has been a total douche and a **** coach. We have more talent and I'm hopeful Brannen beats the breaks off of them.

Xavier has more talent, Steele has been an excellent recruiter, but he can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag. He keeps trying to be a Cronin esque defensive minded coach but without the rigid discipline needed to pull it off. They have been loaded with 4 star talent the past couple years and the guy can't even make the big dance. I'm not worried about X doing anything of note again as long as he is there, so that's good for us.

Do they have talent that fits? They still don't have a point guard. Their best shooter is a freshman. They are really small on the wing with Tandy (who can't guard a traffic cone). They don't have a rim protector. I'll take UC's first 5 over their 5 - easily.
noteable:
- tristen newton is 15lbs heavier
- noah has been at times dominating in practice, looked like a freshman at times-- one of the fastest players he's ever seen
- noah's playing at elite teams has been a huge advantage in getting him ready, but a con in that noah isnt naturally aggressive, trying to improve that
- jayden has to be a better defender and communicator
- have a schedule but not cemented-- opponents have to agree to testing protocol-- it can change-- still in gulfcoast classic
- they missed too many open 3s last year-- with this roster they should be a better rebounding team
- against all inclusive tourney-- likes how difficult it is to get an ivite
Looks like it's mostly newcomers vs. veterans in terms of squads. Haith seems to usually do 6 vs 6 with one guy rotating in and out on various possessions. It looked to me like it was newcomers vs veterans for the most part except Idowu, Ugboh, and Richie were switching between the two squads. Williams hits several contested 3's in these highlights. It looks like he's not afraid to shoot the ball. That will be nice for our second unit. Ugboh looks like he's playing more under control offensively.

penny prides himself in not micro managing his payers, so he understands a lot of the bad shot selection last year, because they had so many freshman not being micro-managed. Thinks itll be drastically better this year
