Question for App Fans
(and we'll see how long before some other school makes it about them.)

Seriously, we've heard it's really bad there. That's it's been nearly three weeks since you could even practice.

Has there been ANY discussion of you canceling your season? Or even a rumor?

Your next game is a week from Thursday against Arkansas State. Is there ANY chance it gets played? It will be the first game since 9/26.

I'm seriously concerned about you guys. Is it getting any better?

Its pretty bad - but we have been in quarantine for 2 full weeks now and have been working out in small groups of 4 with an assigned coach. I believe we will be allowed to practice again this wednesday which gives us a week to prep for arky. i think the plan as of right now will be to play this game as scheduled and pray for no more positives.

Boone and Watauga county are seeing a massive spike. I believe the chancellor has just allowed students to go 100 percent remote and opt out of their housing contracts as of last week. I presume 100 percent remote learning will be mandatory in the coming days. We appreciate the thoughts.

RE: Question for App Fans
From what I hear practice will resume tomorrow, and all but the last 4 positive cases from early last week should be back. There may be some still out due to contact tracing, but there hasn't been any word on that. It will certainly be a challenge to get everyone back in playing shape and ready to go, but at least we'll have a full week to prepare. I'm sure we've been doing plenty of film study on stAte once the GS game was postponed.

In terms of Covid on campus, I think some folks are making it out to be a bit more widespread than it is. Late last week there were 210 positives campus wide, but as of today that is down to 132. We have over 20,000 students and nearly 2,000 employees so we're still talking a relatively small percentage of the people on and around campus. I do think the virus can spread a little easier in Boone due to how compact the footprint of the campus and town are.

Massive spike? According to the school's website, as of Friday there were 133 total active cases in isolation, 252 cumulative cluster cases, 30 of them active. There have been less than 900 total cases (including staff & subcontractors) since June 4th. Appalachian Regional Health Care is being highly overzealous. The biggest issue facing our football team is with contact tracing. Of the players who were held out for Campbell only 1 tested positive and none showed any symptoms the rest were due to tracing.

Lets look at these graphs and tell me that there have not been spikes. Additionally, % positive went from 3.5 percent to 9 in 1 week. Thats a pretty big spike.

Can always count on DG to be irrational both on twitter and in message boards.

Looks like the trend is positive. Every location has a spike and then is comes down, hopefully the university is through the worst of it.

We've been pretty respectful of the situation and App fans can tell you that. No need for you to inject your nonsense into this thread.

Edit: Fine, I took your bait, but someone needed to call out your trash post.

A Louisiana fan posting a question to App fans making that comment.

Who's it supposed to be in reference to? Texas State? **** outta here.

Getting back to the thread topic, I made a comment in another thread (before the most recent positives on the team) that App would have gone close to a month without full team organized practices. That'll surely have an unfortunate impact.

Not sure what the impact will be with the recent positives, hopefully they were already isolated so it's not that big of a deal. Or is there any idea at current time if some guys will still be out by the time of the Coastal game?

Also seems like there hasn't been any news about any developing any bad symptoms which is also great. I guess in this case no news is good news.

Down to 101 active cases today. That's one more massive spike. Run the percentages and show us how bad it is. IStupidfy, the only irrationally comes from people like yourself who sensationalize and blow things out of proportion. You are one more piece of work.

I actually don't care who he was intending it to be for. Disingenuous garbage should always get called out. Based on your interpretation, stAte and USA posters should call this out as well if it was meant as a slight to them.

I mean for real.. are we thread baiting using COVID? This **** has rocked everyone this year, but sure, use it for your own silly message board bull****.

You sure about that? Because you seemed awfully offended that the comment was directed towards GS, even though there was no evidence that it was. But here you still are responding in this thread and making it about your school.
