RE: Game Thread: Appalachian State @ Georgia Southern
That is true. Nothing makes sense in this rivalry. This season feels like we go in looking like Hans and Franz. Maybe by then, we'll have real muscles.

Hold on a second. You are 2 -1 with your only loss by 2 points to Top 25 ranked Louisiana!?
I get you looked a little bit rough for 2 wins, but Dubs are Dubs
'Zactly, and like Saint said, how many of the games in this series go the way they're supposed to on paper?

Hatred knows no boundaries! Part of me thinks this is cue. App could smell it in the air. Three years in a row. Freakn pansies!

Question is, will either team care, both teams had disappointing seasons playing the last game in a near empty stadium, going out on a ledge here and say this probably will not be one of the more memorable games of the series.

While App State isn't as good this year as last, we have only 3 loses to 1 undefeated team and two 1 loss teams (one of those was undefeated until today, and the other's only loss is to an undefeated team). App State was in all the loses we had and still have 7 wins on the season. Not bad.
Will it be enough to get us past a team that has had our number the last two years? Not sure. But I think App State is far from a bad team.

RE: Game Thread: Appalachian State @ Georgia Southern
Things working against App.
1. The game is in Statesboro. The only easy win App's ever gotten there was against Tyson Summers.
2. Georgia Southern has overachieved schematically against App with Chad Lunsford. Scot Sloan worked at App and I think our OL is more comfortable blocking against front very similar to ours.
3. The App offense just isn't as good and the passing game seems disjointed.
4. GS OL isn't great but is playing as well as it had in a while.
Things working against Georgia Southern:
1. Missing personnel. Since the season started we've lost our 2 best backs, our starting nose guard, starting ILB, our first-team all-conference safety, and another OLB who hopefully will be back.
2. Clark isn't going to treat this like it's just another game like Drinkwitz did. No way he won't have the guys ready to play to end on a high note.
3. It's hard to win 3 in a row in this series. The only time either team has done that was when we had Paul Johnson and App was in the Power I and when App had Scott Satterfield and we had Tyson Summers.
4. No Tyler Bass at kicker and App has the top defensive RZ touchdown percentage while our offensive RZ touchdown percentage is bad.
